Musical Theatre Rave: Encore brings together theatre fans of all ages for a high-energy celebration of Broadway, Disney, and classic musical hits

Imagine this: the lights at the Globe Auditorium in Bonifacio Global City barely dims before the crowd erupts into song. This won’t be your typical theatre audience—there will be no hushed silences, no polite applause. Instead, the sound of pure, unbridled joy will dominate, as musical theatre fans come together to belt out their favourite Broadway tunes. And now, due to overwhelming demand, StageDoor by GMG Productions is bringing the magic back for a second night in the coming Musical Theatre Rave.

Originally slated for just one night on October 26, it will extend to a second night on October 27 (titled the Musical Theatre Rave: Encore), allowing even more fans to partake in this unlikely but wildly successful fusion of musical theatre and dance-floor euphoria. In a time where Broadway revivals and West End tours are always eagerly anticipated, this event has tapped into something different—an experience not about passively watching, but about embodying the joy these stories bring.

“The response to this event has been nothing short of phenomenal,” says Carlos Candal, chief executive officer of GMG Productions. “We’ve always aimed to create a community where musical theatre lovers can feel at home, and seeing how well this rave was received has been incredibly rewarding.”

The event features DJ Daddy A spinning a curated mix of Broadway hits, Disney classics and iconic show tunes guaranteed to keep the dance floor buzzing. But the magic doesn’t stop there—it’s not just about the beats; it’s about reliving the moments that have brought joy, heartbreak, and inspiration to audiences for decades. Picture yourself dancing to Defying Gravity or lip-syncing to Let It Go alongside hundreds of like-minded fans; it’s a dream come true for any musical theatre aficionado.

One of the most exciting aspects of Musical Theatre Rave: Encore is its inclusivity. While the first night catered to adults, the second night will open its doors to attendees aged 12 and up. For younger fans who have grown up listening to Hamilton or The Lion King, this is their chance to experience the magic in a way that goes beyond the proscenium arch. As Candal says, “This is a celebration for everyone.” The new family bundle ticket option will make it easier for parents and children to join together in this immersive experience.

The Musical Theatre Rave feels like an answer to what the Manila theatre scene has been yearning for—an event that goes beyond the traditional performance framework. Where else could you see a group of theatre fans vibing to Mamma Mia’s Dancing Queen on the dance floor? It’s a melting pot of enthusiasm and unfiltered passion for the art form.

This leaves realisations that nights like these are more than just an encore. They invite people to come together, to relive the magic, and to create new memories along the way.
