At the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, both nominees, showcased their strong friendship on the red carpet. The two stars, dressed in a vintage Givenchy dress and a sculptural floral gown, posed arm in arm, radiating mutual support.
While Erivo is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture–Musical or Comedy and Grande for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, their film Wicked is also up for Best Motion Picture–Musical or Comedy.

The Substance stars Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley took the stage together—something their onscreen characters, Elizabeth Sparkle and Sue, could never have done.
Presenting the award for Best Television Male Actor–Drama Series, the pair playfully slipped into the competitive dynamic of their characters. “What are you doing here?” Moore asked Qualley at the mic. “What do you mean? What am I doing here, Demi?” Qualley responded. “This is my week,” Moore declared. “You have to respect the balance, remember?”
Both Moore and Qualley were nominated for their roles in The Substance, with Moore winning the Golden Globe for Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture–Musical/Comedy. The film received five Golden Globe nominations, including Best Screenplay – Motion Picture, Best Director–Motion Picture, and Best Picture–Musical/Comedy.

Fernanda Torres was the first Brazilian actress to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture–Drama. Her victory was particularly poignant, as her mother, Fernanda Montenegro, had been nominated in the same category back in 1999 for Central Station. This role also earned her an Oscar nomination.

Sebastian Stan called for an end to the ignorance and discomfort surrounding disability and disfigurement as he accepted his first Golden Globe award. The 42-year-old actor won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture–Musical or Comedy for his role in A Different Man, where he portrays an aspiring actor with neurofibromatosis. He dedicated the award to co-star Adam Pearson, who has the condition, and director Aaron Schimberg.
Speaking at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Stan said: “Aaron Schimberg and Adam Pearson, I wish you were here. I share this with you. Thank you for your trust. Our ignorance around disability must end now. We need to normalise it and encourage acceptance by championing inclusive stories.”
Stan, who was nominated alongside the likes of Jesse Eisenberg and Hugh Grant, reflected on the challenging nature of both A Different Man and his role in The Apprentice, a Donald Trump biopic. “These are tough films, but they’re necessary. We can’t look away,” he said.
