Best-dressed Asian stars on the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet

Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada, who took home the award for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama for Shōgun, looked dapper in a Ralph Lauren suit, which he accessorised with an IWC watch and his signature glasses. A winning look through and through!

South Korean star Lee Jung-jae has been ruling our screens since Squid Game season 2 was released on December 26. And he brought the same dynamic star presence to the Golden Globes in an all-black suit and Gucci Horsebit shoes.

Japanese actor Anna Sawai, who was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Drama for Shōgun, shone on the Golden Globes 2025 red carpet in a pristine-white custom Dior dress designed by costume designer Karla Welch which reportedly took 450 hours to make. She kept the rest of the look simple, opting for a choker and pulled-back hair.

Ali Wong, who was awarded the Golden Globe for best performance in stand-up comedy for her fourth Netflix special Ali Wong: Single Lady, looked resplendent in a red Balenciaga gown with bow detail. She paired it with edgy knife boots from the same brand.

Squid Game director Hwang Dong-hyuk accompanied Lee Jung-jae on the red carpet and looked dashing in a classic black-and-white tuxedo. Not only that, he also promised several media outlets on the red carpet that Squid Game 3 will be full of twists and turns.

On winning the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series for his role in the hit Japanese series Shōgun, Tadanobu Asano shared a humble acceptance speech, “Wow, maybe you don’t know me. I’m an actor from Japan”. He need not have introduced himself though—in his Louis Vuitton tuxedo and accompanied by his wife actor Nakata Kurumi who wore a Japanese kimono, Asano looked every bit the star he is. Such a class act.

Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina turned on the glam factor at the Golden Globes 2025 as she walked onto the stage as one of the presenters. She not only brought her signature sense of humour but also looked elegant in a Jenny Packman cutout dress. Such a queen.

Mindy Kaling brought a touch of gilded glamour to the Golden Globes in a dazzling golden strapless gown by Ashi Studio and diamond sparklers from Bucherer Fine Jewellery. The Golden Globes presenter also spoke about her upcoming appearance on the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle’s cooking show on Netflix to the gathered media.
