Get to know Laufey, the 25-year-old that’s bringing jazz to today’s generation
Laufey Lín Bing Jónsdóttir, or just Laufey (pronounced ‘lāy-vāy’), is taking the world by storm with her jazz-inspired pop music. Since the release of her Bewitched album in September 2023, the composer, singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist has shown the world that jazz is not dead. “My goal is to bring jazz and classical music to my generation through a more accessible road,” says Laufey.
She shows no signs of slowing down after a successful show at the PICC with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and another concert slated for September 2 later this year.

She performed at the Royal Albert Hall
On May 16, Laufey graced the stage of the Royal Albert Hall in England as part of her Bewitched: The Goddess tour. Other noteworthy stars who have performed here include Adele, Lea Salonga, and Muhammad Ali.

Born from Icelandic and Chinese heritage, Laufey likes to keep in touch with her Asian side by annually visiting Beijing, China.
Her twin works alongside her as a creative director
Júnía Lín Jónsdóttir has worked on multiple music videos, including From The Start, Bewitched, and Fragile. The two are very close and inseparable, especially when Laufey goes on tour.

She writes and co-produces her own songs
All the musical genius you hear in her songs is meticulously written and arranged by Laufey herself. The creative process begins with her writing the song, which she then shares with her producer, Spencer Stewart, and the two build it from the ground up.
She has her own book club
Ever a lover of books, Laufey shares her reads with her fans through the Laufey Book Club on Instagram. Here, her fans can read whatever book she’s reading alongside her and exchange their thoughts. She even hosts reading parties in libraries and public spaces for the community to gather and enjoy each other's company.
