As a member of a group renowned for their vocal prowess, the idol has consistently proven to be a formidable force among her contemporaries and a marvel to her fans and the public. Therefore, it was no surprise that she delivered an outstanding performance when she released her first solo single, Spit It Out, in 2020.

Her performance of the song allowed her to become the first K-Pop idol to do full voguing choreography. It is a highly stylised, modern house dance that originated in the late 1980s and evolved out of the Harlem ballroom scene of the 1960s.

Mamamoo’s Solar tells Korean artist and host Jessi on Showterview that her song Honey is about “being hard to get”. She visualises herself as a queen bee: “Everyone brings me all the honey, but I won’t give my heart to any of them,” she explains. 

As expected, her live song performance captivated fans and casual listeners alike.

‘Speechless’ cover

As one of her more underappreciated songs, fans were delighted when they got to witness Mamamoo’s Solar sing Hello. 

“During the concert, I cheered when I heard the beginning of the song,” a fan commented on YouTube. “This song was made to be heard as a performance, with her resonant voice enveloping audiences aurally. The acapella part feels nothing short of a miraculous experience.”
