Pop star, entrepreneur and proud Singaporean JJ Lin scoops up the Tatler Cultural Icon Award 2022

Singaporean pop star JJ Lin took the Tatler Singapore Cultural Icon Award 2022 at the Tatler Ball tonight.

Lin was Tatler Singapore’s cover star in August, where he opened up about the unexpected inspiration behind his music, the importance of Asian representation in mainstream entertainment and how NFTs have the potential to revolutionise the music industry.

This year, Lin teamed up with Singaporean entrepreneurs Kiat Lim and Elroy Cheo to found Arc, a private digital community powered by NFTs and blockchain technology. He also has his music production company, JFJ Productions, and Miracle Coffee, a brand of cafés serving artisanal coffee.

Lin was unable to attend the soiree, as he just kicked off his highly anticipated JJ20 World Tour–a series of concerts around the globe to celebrate 20 years since the release of his first album. Despite not being physically at the Tatler Ball, the star accepted his award via video.

“Hi Tatler Singapore, happy fortieth birthday. I'm so honoured to be presented with the cultural award,” he said. “Thank you for the recognition. Have a great evening.”
