Artists and comic book lovers will have a field day this weekend at the Philippine International Comics Festival (PICOF), which will celebrate its first in person festival. After four successful online festivals, the event will highlight the official selection of 10 graphic novel pitches developed in a Creator’s Lab.
“It took us four years to get here, and some of our books won awards, represented the Philippines in international book fairs and comics festivals, and even got translated into other languages,” says Paolo Herras, the festival director of the Philippine International Comics Festival (PICOF), and co-founder of non-profit organisation Komiket.
