Do you hear the people sing? That’s because ‘Les Misérables’ is coming to Manila!
After debuting in the Philippines in 2016, the critically acclaimed musical Les Misérables returns to the Theatre at Solaire in January 2026 as part of its World Tour Spectacular. As the show approaches its 40th anniversary at London’s Sondheim Theatre, this run promises a fresh reimagination of a legendary classic—complete with a new set design, an international all-star cast, and a large ensemble of musicians.

This time in a groundbreaking, never-before-seen format… Filipino audiences have always shown an incredible passion for world-class theatre, and we know Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular will be unlike anything they’ve experienced before. Written by Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Misérables stitches together the stories of Victor Hugo’s complex characters behind the backdrop of the brutal French revolution. From Jean Valjean’s—Prisoner 24601—fight for freedom and survival to Inspector Javert’s fierce obsession and Cosette’s quest for love, it’s a timeless tale that captivated audiences worldwide.

Since its first local staging, Les Misérables has garnered a massive Filipino audience and fans have been waiting for a rerun. In 2016, we saw the likes of Simon Gleeson and Earl Carpenter bring iconic characters to life and were left spellbound by Rachelle Ann Go’s portrayal of Fantine. While the official cast has yet to be announced, it’s not a stretch to believe that local talent will make its way into the production.
