For a chance to rub shoulders with the likes of Beyoncé and Leonardo DiCaprio, consider owning the most expensive home on the French Caribbean island of St Barts, the luxury villa Domaine de Vignette, which is now on the market
The French Caribbean island of St Barts, or St Barthélemy, has long been a playground for the rich and famous. Leonardo DiCaprio, Heidi Klum, Natalie Portman, Camila Cabello and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos were among those spotted on the island over New Year’s alone; other celebrities seen on the island in the past include Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
For a chance to own a piece of this tropical paradise—and rub shoulders with the rich and famous—look to Domaine de Vignette, which is currently listed for US$59 million and is the most expensive home on the market on St Barts.
The property, which sits on a 2.1-acre lot, has 5,554 sq ft of interior space, with six bedrooms and eight bedrooms. It is one of four estates exclusive Les Étoiles gated enclave in Colombier on the northwest of the island. It underwent an extensive renovation last year by Paris-based architectural designer Rémi Tessier.
“Domaine de Vignette embodies luxury, comfort and privacy, with exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship,” says Zarek Honneysett of Sibarth Real Estate, the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in St Barts, who holds the listing. Everything has been carefully thought out for the comfort of guests, he adds—from the kitchen, VIP cottage and extensive parking to the service and maintenance areas, which are hidden from view in a vast underground structure.

Domaine de Vignette features nine bungalows and tropical gardens, which surround a pool deck, lounge and bar with 180-degree ocean and island views.
The exterior decks are clad in doussié wood, which is native to Central Africa, and brushed spruce, which was handcrafted in France. Blue rock, a local stone, was also used in the outdoor spaces, with each stone meticulously carved to create an organic, monolithic appearance.

The master suite takes up an entire bungalow. In addition to the master suite, four of the guest bungalows all have their own terrace.

The kitchen, in polished stainless steel, takes up an entire bungalow, as do the family room and the dining room, with each accommodating 14 guests. Those structures surround the expansive terrace, which is crafted from Portuguese limestone. There, an outdoor lounge and a bar overlook the bay.
Teak walkways connecting the bungalows lead to the heart of the property: a turquoise-toned swimming pool. With the Caribbean Sea as the backdrop, it is built to be sheltered from the winds. The adjacent pool house includes changing rooms and bathrooms.

The landscaped garden has about 70 species of exotic trees and plants including royal, coconut and Bismarck palms; and flowers including bougainvillaea, laurel and bird of paradise. Colombier Beach nearby is accessible only via walking or by boat.
