建筑师、Design Haus Liberty创始人Dara Huang改造了一座曾半荒废的伦敦联排别墅,并以自创品牌Dara Maison家具、新锐艺术家作品及独特的家居设计秘诀,将其打造为充满格调的居住空间,这也是Dara Huang设计的经典案例。

当建筑师Dara Huang第一次踏上她位于康诺特广场(Connaught Square)住宅的后露台时,脚下的木板竟直接塌陷了。在疫情前,承建商曾开始了一项翻新工程,却在封城期间中途停工,留下这座六层的伦敦联排别墅处于半完工状态。她回忆道:“有些部分完成了,但另一些部分简直是一场灾难。”

最初,这座房子是作为项目委托交到她手中的。“第一次见到这所房子时,我是受邀为该项目进行设计报价,但客户当时无力承担我们的费用,”Dara Huang说道。“两年后我们再次相遇,并坠入爱河。我的公司接手了设计工作,将这座房子变成了我们共同的家。我垫付了所有费用,并约定在他经济状况改善后偿还。虽然过程耗时近两年,但我对最终的成果感到十分满意。”

Dara Huang于2013年创立了建筑与室内设计事务所Design Haus Liberty,在伦敦和香港均设有办公室。她在居住的同时重建了这座4,000平方英尺的房子,过程中往往没有绘制图纸。她常告诫卡地亚(Cartier)和尼希苏姆巴度假村(Nihi Resorts)等客户不要在方案确定后随意更改设计,但在自己家中,她每天都在打破这一规则。“我总是说:‘就这样放这儿,放那儿,’”她调侃道,将自己比作那个拥有好手艺却没鞋穿的匠人。

这一广场位于梅菲尔(Mayfair)和马里波恩(Marylebone)的交界处,就在海德公园(Hyde Park)北侧。这里大多是独栋住宅,很少有房源流向市场。Dara Huang在参观了周边其他住宅后,才意识到自己的房产有多特别。与其他典型的伦敦“煎饼屋”(平坦且缺乏深度)不同,她的家拥有极佳的空间体量,从入口大堂进入,穿过宽大的拱门和旋转楼梯,便可到达内部花园、厨房及宽敞的后露台,几乎每个楼梯平台都能看到窗外的绿意。

“你可以改变内部结构,但无法改变建筑的骨架,”她说道。她唯一保留完好的是前任施工队铺设的镶木地板,这彻底改变了她对地面装饰的看法。曾在哈佛深造并于赫尔佐格和德梅隆(Herzog & de Meuron)事务所工作过的她,一直偏爱宽板地板和现代极简主义。“从此以后,我就认准了镶木地板,”她感慨道。

这里没有预设的情绪板或渲染图。各大品牌主动找上门来,剩余的边角料也填补了空缺。Visual Comfort提供了灯具,de Gournay贡献了手绘壁纸,Gaggenau提供了厨电,而Lusso则快速供应了预制的大理石洗漱台、盆具及槽纹瓷砖。多余的壁纸甚至被贴在了浴室天花板上。同一款香槟色金属纸在浴室中呈现出银色质感,与白色大理石相得益彰;而在餐厅中却展现出金色光泽,随夕阳变化让整个房间充满流动色彩。这款定制壁纸深受客人青睐,甚至引发了她的量产计划。

在餐厅,巨大的威尼斯玻璃吊灯极具视觉冲击力。壁炉上方的大镜子被切割成三块斜角面板,以便搬运。吧台架子使用的是在亚马逊购买的支架,顶部铺设本地切割的玻璃,每块仅需约30英镑。此外,那个看似实心的槽纹卡拉拉大理石壁炉,若按常规工艺雕刻需耗资两万至五万英镑,而她是采用Lusso瓷砖以斜角拼接,做到完全隐形接缝。

墙面选用了她偏爱的多乐士(Dulux)暖白色,她认为这种色调在任何方位、任何国家都能驾驭;大堂则采用了同色系的石灰涂料。将檐口刷成与墙面同色,而非传统的白色勾边,是她将古典与现代融合的独特方式。她目前还没来得及处理天花板。

大部分家具来自Dara Maison,这是Dara Huang与Tory Burch联合创始人Chris Burch合作创立的家具品牌。这些手工家具多配有内置储物空间,线条圆润有机。这种风格深受她赫尔佐格和德梅隆(Herzog & de Meuron)从业经历的影响,当时Jacques Herzog常反复勾勒圆圈,直至它们演变成 blobs 形态。Arabescato大理石材质的Frank茶几,拥有她钟爱的厚实圆润边缘。每一件家具都具备防污功能,这是她为年幼的儿子特别定制的需求。

艺术品收藏则偏向她事务所代理的新锐画家。她在Instagram上发现的乔治亚州艺术家Kristen Giorgi,其《Le Chateau》双联画和《Nude Study IV》均陈列于此,她还在家中举办了该艺术家的首场伦敦展览。Arran Rahimian的作品,包括《Walk Five》、《Play》和《Consistent》,与一幅抽象表现主义油画及ULA的陶瓷艺术品相映成趣,脚下则是Rug Company的地毯。

随着装修工作基本完成,客厅成为了她的最爱,前后的花园在一天之内影影绰绰,光影交错。她提到父母皆为学者,家中从未谈及设计,但她逐渐意识到家庭空间会重塑一切。“我们一生中大部分时间都在家中度过,”她说道,“我们在那里睡觉、吃饭、抚育孩子。”这座充满Dara Huang心血的家依然带给她快乐:“每当我下班回到这里,我都会不禁感叹,我真是太爱这里了。”
