AkzoNobel introduces the Dulux Promise programme to instil customer confidence and announces Bright Skies, its Colour of the Year 2022

While the brand Dulux already inspires confidence when it comes to expectations of quality, AkzoNobel further reinforces this with the Dulux Promise programme. This programme assures Dulux users that they will achieve the results they desire otherwise they will get a replacement of their paint products.

This programme was introduced because AkzoNobel recognises that choosing a paint and getting the desired results is not always an easy task. Sometimes, the paint applied on the wall might not match the colour as shown in the colour catalogue, while other times an inconsistent paint application will lead to uneven or unsatisfactory coverage and finish for the walls.

To this end, the Dulux Promise programme helps address these consumer concerns and promises that selected products in the Dulux Promise portfolio will offer three results when applied on a clean and complete dried wall and in accordance with the Dulux painting system.

The first is perfect colour, in that the colour of the paint will match the colour as indicated on Dulux collaterals such as the fan decks and shade cards. However users must also note that colour disparity that occurs due to base material (i.e. colour may look different in certain materials or surfaces, shape, size and surface lighting) are not covered under the programme.

Secondly a uniformed finish, meaning that paints purchased will have an even finish with no patchiness once it dries up completely on a well-prepared and clean surface.

Lastly, coverage where the Dulux Promise assures that the corresponding bucket of paint will yield the area coverage as stated in Dulux product label and product data sheet. However, users should note that some colours may need more than two coats to achieve the desired opacity.

Through the new Dulux Promise programme, AkzoNobel aims to simplify the decision-making process and give consumers assurance and peace of mind when selecting paint products for their walls.

As David Teng, Commercial Director SEAP at AkzoNobel Decorative Paints explains: “At AkzoNobel, we pride ourselves in constantly enhancing and innovating our products without compromising on our quality commitment. The Dulux Promise programme is a prime example of this; we are confident that our customers will feel assured and satisfied in choosing Dulux products when redecorating or revitalising their homes.”

Products covered under the Dulux Promise programme are Dulux Ambiance Pearl Glo, Dulux EasyClean, Dulux EasyClean Plus, Dulux Pentalite, Dulux Weathershield and Dulux Weathershield Powerflexx. Through the Dulux Promise programme, customers can request a replacement if the applicable Dulux products do not meet the three results stated above, subject to terms and conditions found on the Dulux website.
