Arova welcomes visitors to its spacious new showroom in Ubi, uniting its offering and those of its two sub-brands under one experiential roof

For over a decade, Arova has been a leading name in high-quality laminates, offering innovative surface solutions for discerning homeowners and design professionals. With a steadfast commitment to design excellence, the brand has established itself as a trusted partner in Singapore’s interior landscape, collaborating with designers and architects to deliver premium finishes. Previously operating from a more compact showroom, Arova has now made a bold move—one that highlights its growth and its vision for the future.

At the helm of this transformation is Eric Lim, Arova’s second-generation founder and director. Recognising the need for a larger, more immersive space, Lim acquired a new 8,181-square-foot property—four times the size of the previous showroom—to fully showcase Arova’s offerings, including its two sub-brands: high-performance acoustic panel brand Akustra, and precision-engineered hardware solutions specialist Boxx.

To bring this vision to life, he turned to Sujono Lim, award-winning interior designer and co-founder of Sujonohun. “I worked with Sujonohun on several projects, including an art sculpture using laminates in 2021 and our exhibition space at the 2024 FIND Design Fair Asia,” Eric recalls. “Sujono immediately understood my vision for the showroom, and I knew he was the right choice.”

The brief for Sujonohun was straightforward yet ambitious: to transform a raw industrial space into a sophisticated and functional showroom that balances luxury with an inviting atmosphere. “We wanted the space to feel more than just a retail destination,” says Sujono. “It had to be an environment where visitors—designers, homeowners, and students alike—could interact with materials in a way that was both inspiring and informative.”

“As a huge admirer of the Aman Resorts, I told Sujono that I would like to have a similar concept and mood when first stepping into the space, where it exudes both luxury and serenity at the same time,” Eric adds. Drawing inspiration from Aman Tokyo’s serene aesthetic, the design team conceptualised an environment that seamlessly blends elegance with practicality. “Our goal was to craft a showroom that immediately connected with its audience,” says Sujono. “We wanted visitors to feel both familiar and inspired, to explore without feeling overwhelmed. That meant creating an uncluttered layout that balanced aesthetics with functionality.”

On the first floor, Arova’s full laminate collection is displayed in an innovative 4ft by 8ft pull-out panel system, a market-first in Singapore that allows visitors to experience materials at a scale that best inform them of how they look in their own homes. This level also features an immersive lighting setup, enabling clients to view laminates under different light temperatures that cater to different homeowners’ lighting fixtures at home. Opposite the pull-out panels, Arova’s interactive digital displays allow visitors to visualise its full laminate collection in different residential settings. “We wanted to go beyond traditional sample boards,” Sujono shares. “Here, visitors can engage with materials through digital visuals, virtual perspectives, and varying light environments.”

The second floor is dedicated to Arova’s sub-brands, Akustra and Boxx, each presented within carefully curated zones. The space features a fully functional kitchen and wardrobe display, where Boxx hardware solutions are showcased in real-life applications. Set up as a stately boardroom, the Akustra room lets visitors experience its high-performance acoustic panels, which reduce noise by an impressive 90 per cent. “It’s not just about seeing products—it’s about experiencing them,” says Eric. “We want customers to walk away with a deep understanding of how our solutions can enhance their projects.”

Beyond product displays, the showroom is designed to facilitate meaningful interactions, whether through client consultations or industry networking. “Every detail, from the layout to the lighting, was carefully considered to create a space that is intuitive and engaging,” Sujono adds. “We wanted a seamless flow, ensuring visitors can experience materials in a way that sparks creativity and practicality.”

With fluid spatial planning, warm lighting, and a refined material palette dominated by natural wood textures, the space invites visitors to explore at their own pace. “We approached the design as more than just an aesthetic exercise—it’s about functionality and storytelling,” Sujono says. “This showroom embodies Arova’s evolution, bridging its legacy with a forward-thinking approach.”

With plans to integrate AI and AR into its customer experience, Arova is poised to set new benchmarks in the industry. “My vision for Arova is to be a one-stop solution where consumers can find high-quality, cost-efficient materials for their projects with confidence,” Eric states, hinting: “This showroom marks the beginning of our efforts to expand internationally and introduce even more innovative products under the Arova brand.”

Arova’s new showroom in Ubi is now open to interior designers, architects, and homeowners—a destination where material innovation meets thoughtful craftsmanship, reinforcing Arova’s commitment to design excellence.
