Some of the country’s top names in design were heralded during an elegant evening of food, wine and style

“Good design moves you. It makes you feel alive,” says Tatler Homes Philippines editor Stephanie Zubiri. “It transcends the physical plane and creates a unique vibrational energy that can influence and elevate your own.” When conceptualising a structure and a space, nothing is left to chance as each corner, minute detail, the finishing, and the inherent quality of each material has a purpose.

“Creative minds in this particular domain don’t just fabricate tangible realities, they are architects of emotion,” Zubiri further emphasises. The Tatler Homes Design Awards honoured these talents through an awards night filled with the best in the industry last May 11 at Raffles Makati. The evening was a joyous affair made possible with the support of lead sponsor HSBC, gold sponsors Shang Properties and Raffles Makati, supporting sponsors Kuysen and AXOR, and beverage partner Diageo Philippines.

The awardees championed the importance of design and showered everyone in the room with their gratitude. In particular, architects Anthony Nazareno and Christian Guerrero thanked their team and clients as they received the Best Living Space award for their Banaba Street Residence project and the Best Architectural Concept award for their Makiling Reserve Residence project. “The people we work with are truly a representative of our design,” they proudly say.
Meanwhile, Rosanna Ocampo Rodriguez, winner of the Tastemaker award, shared an inspiring message: “Do what you love and love what you do, and the rest is magic.”
Among the other winners are the personal residence of Kitty Bunag for Best Use of Colour, the Menarco Vertical Museum Project at Menarco Tower for Best Use of Art, the Wooloo Bamboo Village by M+S Studio Company for Best Sustainable Design, and the UP Baguio Teatro Amianan by 90 Design Studio for Best in Innovative Design.
