The colour palette of blond wood and light coloured walls and floors gives a feeling of lightness and space throughout the home.”

Trickie Lopa, a co-founder of Art Fair Philippines, says: “This project demonstrates the many positive facets of art collecting and art appreciation.  On the one hand, it brings together a corporate collection that has been carefully put together to reflect the best examples of Philippine contemporary art of the past decade. The collection is open for the public to enjoy, and that is truly wonderful.  It also shows how art, when integrated into a building’s interior design, can enhance not just the aesthetic environment, but also the mental well-being of the building’s regular occupants.”

Kenneth Cobonpue expresses how much he likes “the rhythmic arrangement of the roofs of the UP Baguio Teatro Amianan. It pays homage to traditional Southeast Asian houses.” He also recognizes “how difficult it is to create something spectacular with a limited budget but this project manages to cap it off nicely.” Further, Budji Layug says that “the architecture is innovative because it creates a rhythm with the repetition of forms and materials. The retrained palette emphasizes the façade’s harmony.”

Best Architectural Concept: The Makiling Reserve Residence by Anthony Nazareno and Christian Guerrero

To quote Kenneth Cobonpue: “There is poetry in the simple but bold and angular silhouette of the Makiling Residence. The conscious decision not to put any artwork in the home but instead open up to nature shows itself in the interior architecture which is done elegantly and beautifully.”
