Renowned for his exacting attention to detail, Another Level founder TS Wong crafts luxury residential interiors with flawless finishes and an unmatched sense of professionalism

There is a kind of meticulousness that is only earned with time and dedication—the kind of dedication it takes to amass 17 years of interior design experience. Anyone who has worked with TS Wong would attest to this meticulousness, which is evident in every project he has undertaken throughout his career.

From commercial and hospitality projects to luxury residential interiors, Wong’s portfolio speaks for itself, serving a prestigious and international clientele. Having established his design firm, Another Level, in 2021, with a focus on private residential interiors—think elegant landed houses and condominium units—he remains at the forefront of every project, conscientious, exacting, and hands-on.

Refined precision

“There are lots of young, up-and-coming designers out there,” Wong tells us. “What I offer is a certain level of service quality that has been refined over time.” This is a combination of skill, precision and attention to detail, but also an exceptional standard of communication and professionalism that extends to a dedicated and talented team.

“I expect the same high standards not just from my in-house team, but also from my contractors and vendors,” he states. “Anyone who interacts with my clients should offer nothing less than excellence—that’s how we ensure our projects run smoothly, from the first consultation to completion.”

Raising the service levels in his design work is something Wong has strived towards throughout his career, and will be continuing to focus on this year, and beyond. “The way my team and I perform on-site, and how we react when tough situations arise—that’s how we raise the bar, and that is what’s key for Another Level.”

Novel solutions

Diversifying his range of suppliers is another priority, ensuring his design work remains fresh, innovative and personalised. Instead of sourcing from the same roster of suppliers project after project, Wong pushes for exploration, bringing in new brands and materials, which allows his firm to “evolve, develop new ideas, and generate better solutions”.

“At the end of the day, homeowners have a problem, and we are engaged to provide a solution,” he says. For Wong, this always begins with an in-person meeting. “Meeting our clients face to face is key because it allows us to get a real sense of the chemistry and get to the root of what they’re looking for,” he shares. “If they don’t want to have an in-person meeting, it tells me that this is probably not going to work out.”

Cultivated craft

In the time since its founding, Another Level has already amassed an impressive portfolio of work, ranging from terrace and semi-detached homes to condominium apartments as well as shophouses. Each of the projects Wong has overseen under Another Level has come with its own set of challenges and peculiarities.

Take, for instance, a semi-detached house on Wilkinson Road, which came with an unusual brief: to focus wholly on the kitchen, transforming the 10-year-old cooking area into a space fit for both cooking and entertaining, and ideally incorporating a miniature wine cellar in the process.

“We suggested turning it into a show kitchen,” Wong tells us. “No more wet and dry kitchen segregation, because this would waste too much room; instead, a show kitchen with a wine chiller and a large island, which doubles as a space to enjoy wine with guests.”

A key consideration in this instance was the quality of the exhaust system. “It had to be excellent to avoid any cooking smells lingering, since it’s an open kitchen,” he explains. “We spoke to kitchen specialists and recommended that the homeowners invest in top-tier equipment, such as the stove and hood by Wolf.”

Other projects by Another Level are given the same attention, ensuring the smallest details are thoughtfully resolved: from aged shophouses necessitating a complete overhaul to bachelor pads requiring a travel-friendly refresh. Regardless of the project, Wong’s principles endure: a singular meticulousness, and flawless execution from start to finish.
