1. The Art of Layering

Above Sol Luminaire's striking layered ceiling
Steering away from conventional cookie-cutter booth settings, Sol Luminaire’s open-concept interior at 395 Guillemard Road features organic curves, a neutral colour palette and delicate textures. It is a theatre in which Sol Luminaire demonstrates its mastery in the art of light layering.
Various finishes, from graphic black-and-white marble to custom textured lime plaster, are brought to life by the showroom’s curated products. One of its most striking new features is its curved ceiling. Sporting tiered heights with wavy edges, installed at Singapore's most common ceiling elevations, starting from 2.4 to 3.2 metres, this tiered ceiling perfectly illustrates the power of layered architectural lighting in real, lived-in scales.
2. Sophisticated Brutalism

A few doors down from the Sol Luminaire gallery, brutalist charm meets sophisticated elegance at the semi-open concept interior of The Lab2.1 at 399 Guillemard Road. Here, raw, industrial elements like exposed steel frames and cast concrete surfaces are paired with custom furniture clad in lush materials like black leather and velvet.
Together with the statement lighting pieces artfully displayed throughout the interior, these elements immerse customers in an industrial chic, gallery-like retail experience. If you find yourself falling in love with the topographical black leather corner sofa, velvet bubble sofa, or any other bespoke furniture in the gallery, we have good news for you: they are available to order; just ask the friendly staff.
3. Minimalist Darlings

Minimalist lovers are spoilt for choice by Sol Luminaire’s in-house architectural lighting brand, Aeon. Its three latest series, all displayed to demonstrate their full potential at Sol Luminaire gallery, are a mix of the new and the improved that caters to every need for clean, crisply illuminated space with effortless dim-to-warm function.
Bedside lamp Kepler V2 has retained its predecessor’s signature eclipse-inspired rotational functionality and enhanced it with an intuitive touch sensor and convenient USB type C charging port that makes it ideal for overnight charging. It also features dim-to-warm colour temperature spectrum from 1800K – 3000K.

Successor to the Voli Recessed, the Voli V2 features the same gallery-quality downlight illuminating capabilities as its 110-mm-diameter predecessor in a compact 80mm-diameter trimless design, allowing for a sleek, uncluttered aesthetic.

4. Delicious Modularity

Inspired by the shape of bubble tea’s chewy tapioca pearls, Aeon’s Boba debuted as a wall lamp earlier in August. Displayed at Lab2.1’s revamped interior are its new extended family: Boba Pendant and Boba Chain Pendant.
Encased within a metal shade with a softly undulating edge, Boba Pendant’s deceptively simple form lends a touch of nostalgic whimsy with a distinctly contemporary edge. It is available in three sizes and three colourways: full steel, black/gold or black.
Decorative lighting is like jewellery to a space—this has never been so aptly illustrated by the Boba Chain Pendant, which dangles its frosted “pearls” from stainless steel chains whose length can be adjusted and draped according to your desire to embellish your space. Available in two sizes and three same colourways as the Boba Pendant.

5. Mario Tsai’s Urban Trio

Above Grid paints a futuristic picture with its stainless steel structure
Famous for its experimental and technological approach to material exploration, Hangzhou-based design practice Mario Tsai studio has introduced a trio of new exclusive designs for the revamped Lab2.1; each deserves a pride of place in your space.
Inspired by urban landscapes, Grid features a futuristic design made by sandwiching filament strips between aluminium sheets, forming a grid that reminds one of the glowing interiors of a high-rise tower peeking between its steel structure.

The show-stopping Bloom is a 1.8-metre-tall pendant light crafted from hand-bent PET panels with an LED centre that creates visually arresting light reflection and refraction. Meanwhile, the minimalist, uber-cool Mazha 5.2 draws inspiration from urban scaffolding, reimagined into low-voltage lighting objects with calming warm light.

Fresh from this year’s Euroluce showcase in Milan, Spanish brand A-emotional Light brought two poetic designs to the new Lab2.1, both featuring painted perforated stainless steel sheets.
Available in three sizes, Nebra presents a clean-cut linear shape and perforated patterns that remind one of a misty summer sunrise.
Available in two colours, Blossom is an asymmetrical table lamp that creates a graceful organic effect from decidedly geometric sheets, a clever juxtaposition that lends softness to any space.
