Tatler Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow from previous years share how being part of the Gen.T community has helped their professional journey

Some of our previous year’s Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow give us a glimpse of what it means to be part of an Asia-wide community driven by a passion to make the world a better place

Every year, we welcome a new cohort of Tatler Gen.T Leaders of Tomorrow to the community. This year marks the ninth edition of our flagship list and brings the total number of honourees to 3,160.

Meticulously scrutinised and selected based on their achievements in the last 18 months, being part of Gen.T is more than just a recognition. These young movers and shakers across Asia are driven by a passion for making a difference. Being nominated means joining a network of like-minded individuals who inspire, challenge and support each other to create a lasting impact.

We caught up with some of our honourees from previous years to get a glimpse of what it’s like to be part of the network across seven diverse markets. They share how their engagement with Gen.T has influenced their professional journeys, broadened their horizons and paved the way for other accomplishments.

How have your interactions with the Gen.T community impacted your professional journey?

Syazwan Majid (SM): Being part of the Gen.T community has been quite a leap for me. It has opened doors to collaborations and opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. The connections I’ve made have been invaluable, helping me to expand my network and learn from some truly inspiring people.

How have your interactions with fellow honourees offered fresh insights into what you do?

SM: Talking with other honourees and learning from their experiences and insights have been a constant source of inspiration. It has helped push me to think outside the box in my work. I learned a lot from their experiences with failure; how to deal with it and how to use it as a tool to improve the industry or market.

Can you share any notable business developments from your involvement with the Gen.T community?

SM: One of the coolest things that happened was teaming up with another honouree on a sustainability event. It was a big win for both of us. It’s amazing what you can achieve when you bring different minds together.

What does being a member of the Gen.T community mean to you?

SM: Being part of the Gen.T community means a lot. It’s not just about recognition. It’s about being part of a group of passionate, forward-thinking individuals who are all about making a positive impact. It’s a source of motivation and support that I truly value.
