On October 12, we celebrated the launch of the latest Gen.T List 2022 with existing and new members of the Malaysia community at a private event in Kuala Lumpur

On October 12, we celebrated the 30 honourees from Malaysia on the Gen.T List 2022 with a private event at Suzie Wong in Kuala Lumpur.

Presented in partnership with our regional headline sponsor Credit Suisse and local sponsor Chopard, the dinner saw the 2022 honourees mingling with past years' honourees and the Tribe, industry experts who helped to nominate and review the Gen.T List.

The evening kicked off with Geraldine Beh, managing director of Tatler Asia (Malaysia), and Chong Jinn Xiung, Gen.T's editor for Malaysia, greeting guests with a joint speech.

They shared how the Gen.T List was put together this year and thanked the Tribe in Malaysia for their contributions. Tribe members in attendance included 1337 Ventures’ Bikesh Lakhmichand, ScaleUp Malaysia’s Aaron Sarma and Earth Heir’s Sasibai Kimis

The first highlight of the event was the Gen.T x Credit Suisse Social Impact Awards, which was presented to one Malaysian honouree this year: Syed Zain Almohdzar of Klean, the company behind the country's first reverse vending machine that rewards users for recycling plastic waste and aluminium cans.

Later, Gen.T's Lee Williamson shared with guests about our upcoming initiatives, including the launch of the inaugural Gen.T Asia Summit, an innovation and ideas festival for entrepreneurs, creatives and young professionals, next year.

Following this, the 30 Malaysian honourees on this year's Gen.T List was officially unveiled and invited up to the front of the room for a group photo.

Everyone looked spectacular, especially the honourees—Melissa Tan, Zenna Law, Syed Zain Almohdzar and Zikry Kholil—who were decked out in jewellery and watches by Chopard.

Throughout the evening, guests were kept entertained by Clinton Jerome Chua, who belted out hit after hit as a delicious four-course meal was being served. The evening ended with DJ DeRajj on the decks, playing out a memorable Leaders of Tomorrow event.

The Gen.T List 2022 is sponsored by Credit Suisse across Asia and also by Chopard in Malaysia. See the honorees from Malaysia on the Gen.T List 2022.
