Even with the past week's double whammy of T8-level typhoons, Hong Kong's voracious appetite for eating out wasn't dampened in the slightest, with many of you braving wind and rain to dine out the moment there appeared to be a break in the stormy weather. Hopefully it's all smooth sailing from here on out, as we train our sights on the culinary delights that the coming weeks have to offer, from truly indulgent eats to dessert and cocktails all wrapped up in one.

Butter Me Up
Sweet tooths rejoice: Butter Cake Shop is expanding its footprint with a permanent location on Soho's Staunton Street, joining its ongoing pop-up at Landmark Atrium. The bright red signage and oversized lettering of the facade make it hard to miss; inside, customers can pick up their online orders or purchase a limited number of cakes and pies made daily. Weekends will see the arrival of limited-edition treats such as lemon bars and chef Karys Logue's own-recipe banana bread, too.
To celebrate, Butter will launch the Confetti Cake from October 22 onwards. Essentially a buttery vanilla cream cake layered with rich and fluffy vanilla buttercream frosting and packed full of rainbow sprinkles, the cake will be available whole (HK$550) via the Butter website, or by slice (HK$90) only at Landmark Atrium.
