In the run-up to Asia's 50 Best Bars award presentation next month, DarkSide—ranked #13 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022—will be the stage for an exclusive pop-up event featuring Paradiso—the cocktail bar from Barcelona that took the #1 spot on World’s 50 Best Bars 2022 list. For two nights only, on July 16 and 17 from 9pm until midnight, Giacomo Giannotti, the Tuscany-born owner and head bartender of Paradiso, will join forces with Simone Rossi, Rosewood Hong Kong’s Director of Bars, Bar Manager KT Lam, and the DarkSide team to serve up Paradiso's signature creations.

Acclaimed for its creative concoctions, sustainability ethos, and whimsical charm, the pop-up menu will spotlight five of Paradiso’s cocktails. This will include the Evolution Negroni, a bourbon whiskey-based drink infused with mango and
vanilla, chai tea, Frangelico and grated tonka bean; Fleming, made with miso-flavoured Tequila Blanco, beer syrup, Mancino Secco, grapefruit juice, grapefruit kefir, Thai milk and Perrier; and The Cloud, Paradiso's mezcal-infused cocktail topped with a cappuccino cloud. All cocktails will be available for HK$180.

Taste of summer

Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Basin has unveiled a seasonal a la carte menu that serves up the flavours of Greece, France, Italy and Spain. Among the new dishes, the cured tuna lomo—sliced tuna with egg yolk, lime juice and soy sauce—sits lightly on the stomach and is perfect for the warmer months. There’s also the Aegean classic of grilled octopus that is paired with black olives, sweet potato and lemon. Those who opt for the tasting menu can also try other debut items such as the red snapper with cauliflower purée and cuttlefish pappardelle. For something vegetarian, the Murcia eggplant parmesan with sunflower seeds and goat cheese will transport tastebuds to sunny Spain.
