Whether it’s in food, drinks or art, we are living in the age of collaborations. The latest one that has gotten gourmands extremely excited is Häagen-Dazs’s new range of macaron-infused ice cream flavours created with world-renowned chef Pierre Hermé. Available at major retailers in Singapore from May 15, it is the dream team worth waiting for considering that luxury ice cream brand Häagen-Dazs is the ‘ice cream of ice creams’ while Hermé is the ‘Picasso of pastries’.
Häagen-Dazs global brand director Manuel Garabato shared that the partnership naturally came about thanks to their desire to “showcase the true craftsmanship” of their brands. “We are both passionate about innovating and re-interpreting classic favourites and creating extraordinary experiences for our consumers,” explained Garabato, and what better way to do that than bringing ice cream lovers a taste of Paris in a pint?

There are three novel creations available, and these are made with premium ingredients that result in the ice creams’ velvety texture and rich, creamy taste. Crunchy, chewy macaron shells are added into the mix to imbue them with the signature almond flavour that Hermé’s macarons are known for.
As Hermé hails from France, it was only natural for him and Häagen-Dazs to create a reinterpretation of France’s most classic dessert in the Häagen-Dazs x Pierre Hermé Strawberry & Raspberry. Each pint sees the strawberry-flavoured ice cream decorated with swirls of fruity, tangy raspberry sauce and studded with mini macaron shells for textural contrast that complements the sweet notes. It’s also available in a stick-bar format, so even those who are always on the go can enjoy it anytime, anywhere.

No ice cream collection is complete without chocolate, which makes the Häagen-Dazs x Pierre Hermé Double Chocolate Ganache a delicious addition to the regular range. Made for chocolate lovers, the decadent chocolate base comes with swirls of salted dark chocolate ganache to offer varying levels of chocolatey goodness before it’s finished off with bits of macaron shells to make each bite even more moreish.
Making this macaron ice cream range even more enticing is the limited-edition Häagen-Dazs x Pierre Hermé Yuzu & Lemon, consisting of a classic Häagen-Dazs scoop with zesty lemon ice cream and lemon and yuzu curd sauce, then finished with yellow mini macaron shells.
