The Tatler Singapore team shares some of our favourite hawker finds in Singapore
From Hokkien mee to nasi padang, step into any hawker on the island and you will find a tantalising array of stalls offering mouthwatering dishes. With so many options to go for, choosing what to eat at a hawker centre can be overwhelming. While a meal at a hawker typically never goes wrong, some stalls definitely stand out more than others.
While some may argue that the best stalls are the ones with the longest queues, others may argue otherwise. That said, we asked the Tatler Singapore team to share some of their favourite hawker eats and the best places to enjoy them.

1. Hokkien Mee
“If I’m ever looking for a quick meal I’ll pop over to Bukit Timah Food Centre for Xie Kee Hokkien Mee's famous Hokkien mee. It’s one of the best I’ve ever had—silky noodles in a powerfully umami prawn-based sauce, topped with fresh prawns and squid. The squeezed calamansi is not optional, as is the tablespoon of sambal mixed with the noodles. This is the taste of my childhood—satiating, filling, and comforting.”
