Mother’s Day is just under a month away, and if you haven’t yet thought about how you plan to spend the Sunday, we have you covered. The most important woman in your life deserves to be spoiled with love, gifts, and, of course, food, and for the latter, there is no one better to ask for recommendations than chefs and restaurant owners.
From cooking at home and dining at newly opened spaces to a crab feast, here are how these F&B personalities plan to celebrate Mother’s Day this 2024.

“After church in the morning, we plan to go for brunch in Chinatown, which is where my mother grew up. Shin Kee Beef Noodle is one of our favourite spots!”
“We also have a family tradition of having a steamboat at home. I enjoy preparing the ingredients and cooking up nutritious soup for the whole family with everyone’s favourite ingredients.”

“Mother’s Day is always a busy day in Kayra, so what we usually do is celebrate the day before with a big brunch. For a special occasion, my mother loves seafood, especially getting her hands dirty with crabs. So, crabs cooked Chinese style, followed by her favourite Musang King durian for dessert!”

“My mother is the type of woman that doesn’t wait for her kids to celebrate Mother’s Day—she gives herself the treatment she deserves and is now in Europe travelling!”
"However, if she was around, we would go somewhere new, as we usually do each year. My picks would have been either Potager or Terra Dining.”

“For a special occasion, Hee Lai Ton in Pudu is a go-to. As adventurous as my mother used to be, as the years have passed, she tends to prefer more familiar and comforting flavours, and the restaurant always delivers on that front.”
“The peking duck needs to be pre-ordered a day in advance, and is amazing. The signature tofu is love on a plate, especially with the sauce lathered on fried rice.”

“If all goes well this year, Mother’s Day will be spent opening a new restaurant of mine! However, to celebrate for the special occasion, I usually cook at home as most places are packed on the day, and we prefer to enjoy the peace and quiet to celebrate with no distractions.”
