Here are some of the latest releases to take note of this month
The whisky distilleries and cognac houses are welcoming the new year and Chinese New Year with limited-edition releases. Take, for example, The Black Bowmore DB 1964, one of the rarest single malt whiskies ever launched. It’s also one of the hardest to covet, given that there are only 25 bottles available worldwide and only one has been allocated to Singapore.
With Chinese New Year just around the corner, brands such as Glenfiddich and The Glenrothes have also come up with beautiful packaging to go with their signature expressions. Before that, imbibers can savour the Rémy Martin 1738 Accord Royal neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail, as it is finally available in Singapore.
1. The Black Bowmore DB 1964
Bowmore and Aston Martin come together for the Designed by Aston Martin limited-edition collection, featuring striking bottle designs and packaging created by the luxury car brand. The pinnacle of the collection is the Black Bowmore DB5 1964, one of the rarest single malt whiskies ever created which now comes in a specially designed bottle that features an authentic Aston Martin DB5 piston.
Bottled at 49.6 per cent ABV, the expression entices with aromas of ripe exotic fruits and crème caramel. The complex flavours unravel on the palate with notes of mango, passionfruit and acacia honey interwoven with a powerful combination of coffee, tobacco and smoke.
Only 25 bottles of the Black Bowmore DB5 1964 are available worldwide—one of these is allocated to Lotte Duty Free Changi Airport in Singapore. However, the series also features the 10 Year Old, 15 Year Old and 18 Year Old in specially designed packaging.
