CITY TAKEOVER

Its City Takeover rallies up an entourage of 36 cocktail bars, including Madam Fan, Native and The Secret Mermaid, with each bar presenting one SGCF cocktail each. This year’s cocktail innovation theme is ‘music’—inspired by the restriction of playing music in F&B establishments, SGCF hopes this year’s theme can inject some fun back into bars.

Look forward to music-inspired concoctions including Employees Only Singapore’s I Did It My Way Manhattan-style cocktail, inspired by Sal Valentinetti’s (America’s Got Talent) golden buzzer rendition of the song My Way; Mo Bar’s Roaring City pineapple-based cocktail inspired by Sarah Kang’s Summer Is For Falling In Love; and Madame Fan’s Sinatra-inspired To Be Frank cocktail.

Co-founder of SGCF, Wai Mayleng, notes that while there are various Covid-19 restrictions still in place. “We are confident that participating cocktail bars will put on their best and most innovative experiences to wow their fans”. With the pandemic still at large, safety remains its main priority, working closely with featured bars to ensure regulated precautions are in place.

COCKTAIL BRUNCHES

On top of cocktails, SGCF will be having weekend cocktail brunches from November 13 to December 12. During this period, 10 bars will take turns impressing epicureans with a cocktail brunch showdown.

Look forward to brunch with an Asian twist at Low Tide’s Nasi Kerabu Brunch, in collaboration with Hendrick’s Gin. Available only on November 14, guests can indulge in refreshing free-flow cocktails and a three-course brunch menu. Highlights of the menu include rendang on lemang, or grilled miso eggplant, and makrut lime cake.

For something more classic, opt for the four-course cocktail paired menu at Origin Bar, exclusively available on December 12. Here, diners will get to savour classic brunch staples, including bangers & mash, avocado toast, and pineapple inverted cake.
