It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as the island’s top chefs continue to update their menus to include delectable festive offerings. That means the week is all about indulging in festive favourites such as roasted turkeys, glazed hams and even log cakes. But if your palate needs a break, you also have French omakase and updated Cantonese-Sichuan menus to consider.

1. Restaurant Jag

A meal at this intimate French restaurant is always a delicious affair, especially with chef-owner Jeremy Gillon's penchant for surprising palates with an omakase menu that showcases the season’s bounty and various Savoie herbs. His True Jag Omakase Experience autumn menu is no different—ingredients such as clementine, salsify, langouste and venison (among many others) are elevated with herbs such as sariette, sapin, serpolet and verveine for a beautiful balance of complex flavours and textures. 2. Heart of Darkness

It’s the month of feasting at this gastropub, which has rolled out its Christmas menus, available throughout the month. Drinks are a must, and you can choose from over 25 beers on tap, beer-infused cocktails or even natural wines. These make for the perfect accompaniment to the sharing-friendly mains, among which are the herb-crusted lamb rack coated with herbs and aged cheese; honey cinnamon glazed ham; and beef Wellington wrapped in prosciutto and duxelles mushrooms. 3. Oso Ristorante

Have an Italian-inspired Christmas celebration in Singapore with the help of executive chef Diego Chiarini, who has prepared a selection of festive menus. Available until December 24 is the three-course lunch set, which you can customise according to what you want to eat. The starter is an easy choice between beef carpaccio and tuna salad, but the tough part is deciding on the mains—angel hair pasta with black truffle puree; raviolo stuffed with roasted turkey; roasted whole pork cooked Porchetta style; or sea bass carpaccio? 4. The Cliff

Before chef Jeremy Barragan’s grand feast on Christmas eve, he will indulge gourmands first with his three-course lunch and five-course dinner, available throughout the month. Whatever you choose, you’ll be able to feast on signatures such as the tortellini en brodo (pork and veal tortellini bathed in clear broth) and caramelised kabocha squash risotto. 5. Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant-Kitchener Road

Take a break from this month’s roasted turkeys, glazed ham and log cakes and savour delicious Chinese fare at this newly-revamped restaurant. Executive Cantonese Master Chef Leung Wing Chung has updated his repertoire with new à la carte dishes, and standouts include the Exotic Garden, an assembly of vegetables drizzled with truffle oil, black truffle sauce and Osmanthus sauce, and crispy brown rice with two-head abalone in superior stock.
