These well-loved Indian restaurants in Singapore will showcase their signature dishes from North and South India

Tiffin Room and Samy’s Curry are stalwart Indian restaurants in Singapore—the former is famed for its flavoursome North Indian fare and the latter for its spicy South Indian cuisine. Put the two of them together and you have the not-to-be-missed Tiffin Room x Sam’s Curry collaboration menu, which is available at Tiffin Room from February 25 to March 10.

Bring your appetite for an enticing meal that brings you from North to South India with chef de cuisine Kuldeep Negi (Tiffin Room) and owner Maheyndran Veerasamy (Samy’s Curry) specialities, prepared in the traditional way using premium ingredients. And it all starts with Negi’s tandoori prawn, which is basically a meaty jumbo prawn that is marinated in a medley of spices and yoghurt and grilled in the tandoor oven for a beautifully smoked finish. It’s served alongside the tulsi mahi tikka, another fan favourite which sees the barramundi fish imbued with a variety of spices and cooked in the clay oven.

These set the stage for a parade of Samy’s Curry’s signatures—Mysore mutton, Sambhal Prawns, chicken masala and squid in black sauce which are soaked in a fiery but flavoursome curry sauce. In true Sam’s Curry’s fashion, the dishes are served in a “tin carrier” where the staff scoop up a generous amount onto your plate that’s covered with a banana leaf. Make space for more dishes to come from Negi, namely the lamb biryani featuring fluffy rice studded with generous chunks of lamb and a modern take on the classic curry which is cooked with scallops.

Tiffin Room and Samy’s Curry have prepared an all-vegetarian menu, too, with dishes like kesari paneer and gucchi mushroom tikki from Tiffin Room and brinjal curry and mock chicken curry from Samy’s Curry. You also have the option to enrich the dining experience with an Indian wine pairing, curated by Tiffin Room’s beverage team. Book here.
