The beloved brand which created the hybrid pastry of croissant baked in a shape of a muffin, will open a bakery-café at Pacific Plaza

Remember the cruffin? The flaky, sugar-dusted and cream-filled croissant baked in the shape of a muffin that became an internet sensation in 2016 is coming to Singapore in June as its creator, San Francisco bakery Mr Holmes Bakehouse, has partnered with lifestyle group Caerus Holding to open its first outlet at Pacific Plaza.

The 41-seater bakery-café has been designed to give the same dining experience at its now-shuttered outlets in the US with its signature scheme of white and pink, peace neon signages that make for photo-worthy backdrops, and rows of fresh bakes on display to entice passers-by to come by for a snack break any time of the day.

It’s worth a stop, as the menu features a mouth-watering selection of bakes ranging from donuts, croissants and cruffins. These can be ordered à la carte or in the ‘Get Baked’ set for a combination of sweets and savouries. Moreover, the team will continue updating the offerings every quarter to ensure loyal and new customers have something new to look forward to whenever they visit.

And to stay true to the brand’s DNA, the pastry chefs from the original outlet in the US had been brought to Singapore to guide their local counterparts in recipe development, pastry crafting techniques and operation protocols.

Mr Holmes Bakehouse is the latest brand brought to Singapore by Caerus Holding, which is also behind the opening of Danish bakery Leckerbaer and lobster joint Luke’s Lobster last year.

Says CEO Vijay Pillai: “Beneath its trendy façade, we find that Mr Holmes Bakehouse’s ideology of challenging tradition with innovation resonates with our belief that food is an experience beyond the plate. With their irreverent approach to craft and identity, we’re excited to add a new personality to our portfolio and we hope Singapore is as excited as we are in welcoming Mr Holmes Bakehouse.”
