5 Restaurants and Bars To Celebrate International Women’s Day in Singapore

These establishments are raising a glass to the ladies with exclusive International Women’s Day menus

International Women’s Day falls on March 8, and there is no better way to celebrate the occasion than by pampering the women in our lives with a decadent meal and elegant cocktails. This year, some of the island’s talented chefs and bartenders have curated exclusive menus to honour women and the achievements and challenges they face each day. From purple afternoon tea sets to lush cocktails, here are five establishments to visit to honour the ladies.

1. The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

In honour of celebrating women, The Courtyard and The Landing Point will be holding its annual Purple Afternoon Tea, from now until March 31. Look forward to a lavish feast featuring handcrafted creations adorned with purple accents. Indulge in sweet and savoury treats such as hickory-smoked duck tartlet with hoisin mayo and violet flower; open-faced beef pastrami sandwich topped with sun-dried tomato, cornichon and sumac aioli; fragrant lavender financier; and tangy elderberry macarons.

2. The Marmalade Pantry

Indulge in a delectable Periwinkle afternoon set at The Marmalade Pantry. Dig into savoury canapes such as umami-filled aburi mentaiko prawns on fluffy brioche buns; hearty basil pesto ciabatta sandwich topped with grilled vegetables; and Marmalade’s signature buttermilk scones. Then, tuck into sweet treats including light and airy macarons filled with yam and white chocolate ganache; moist red velvet cupcakes; and taro swiss rolls. 3. Smoke & Mirrors

For International Women’s Day, Smoke & Mirrors will be shining the spotlight on front-of-house woman Kathleen Galicia with the forget-me-not cocktail. Created by Galicia herself, this luminous purple concoction sees a wonderful medley of gin, elderflower, lavender bitters, wolfberry and Ancho Reyes. 4. The Lobby Lounge

Take a trip to The Lobby Lounge and celebrate International Women’s Day with its Empowher high tea set, in partnership with United Women Singapore. Tuck into savoury bites including smoked royal salmon and forest mushroom quiche; ocean crabmeat with tobiko roll; and Sakura egg and tuna sandwich.

Meanwhile, sweet tooths can delight in an assortment of local sweets, including ondeh ondeh (sweet rice cake balls with molten palm sugar), kueh sweet potato, and kueh yam talam (sweet potato rice cake). 5. Amò

Pay tribute to women with Amò’s Lungarotti five-course wine degustation dinner, exclusively available on March 9. Get to savour award-winning bottles from Umbrian winery Lungarotti, gorgeously accompanied with classic Italian fare. The dinner begins with creamy ricotta stuffed zucchini blossoms with sundried tomato bisque and sweet gambero rosso prawns. Then, savour the likes of juicy black pork porchetta accompanied with amandine potatoes and garden cress; and roasted Challand duck with pickled watermelon radish. The night ends on a sweet note with its rich Perugina dark chocolate tart garnished with hazelnut praline and orange zest.

6. Burger & Lobster

Toast to inspiring women at Burger & Lobster with its latest concoction, Porfirio. This elegant and refreshing tipple is inspired by the strength of femininity and is wonderfully prepared with Mount Gay Eclipse Rum, citrus, salt and homemade syrup.
