The Tatler team shares some of our go-to healthy snack alternatives when in need of a midday pick-me-up

We can all agree that being able to snack while working is one of the benefits of working from home. After all, food has become a source of comfort for many of us—and it doesn’t help that the kitchen is merely a few steps away. Rather than munching on chips and biscuits throughout the day, healthy snacks are a way to feel less guilty from snacking. That said, the Tatler team has compiled a list of healthy snack alternatives to pick up on your next grocery run.

1. Amazin’ Graze ABC Butter

Tatler Asia

“I was introduced to natural nut butter a few years ago, and I’ve never looked back since (sorry, Skippy). I love slathering the ABC Butter from Amazin’ Grace—a rich medley consisting of toasted almonds, brazil nuts and cashews—atop round corn crackers for a guilt-free treat.”

2. Boxgreen

Tatler Asia

“I love trying new food so, naturally, one of my favourite things ever is a food subscription box (or really any subscription box because they are so much fun). Last year, I graduated and started working full time and one of my biggest issues was that I was aimlessly roaming the kitchen and snacking on anything that was available—healthy or not.

So, when I discovered Boxgreen, I was immediately sold. Boxgreen is a healthy snack company that provides weekly boxes filled to the brim with delicious snacks that are healthy and conveniently portioned so you don't end up overdoing it. You get to build your own box weekly and my absolute favourite additions were always the Honey Mustard Roast Crisps, which are sweet and salty soy chips, and the Peanut Pretzel Muddy Bites which are a mix of salty pretzels, cashews, peanuts and chocolate chips. The best part is that Boxgreen is sustainability driven and cares deeply about reducing their packaging waste as well as empowering less fortunate communities in Singapore such as the Open Door Policy and Yellow Ribbon Project.”

3. Serious Popcorn

Tatler Asia

“Popcorn has to be one of my top foods to snack on—not only does it taste good, it also does not make my hands dirty (which is a plus for those, like me, who enjoy eating while working). One of my go-to brands would be Serious Popcorn. On top of it being seriously good, its popcorn is organic with no artificial flavours and chemicals. What’s more, it is also 100 per cent traceable (from farm to bag). While Serious Popcorn has various flavours to choose from, sweet & salty never goes wrong. After all, it is the best food combination in my opinion.”

4. Allmighty Foods’ Lychee’licious Jelly

Tatler Asia

“It's a childhood snack reinvented for health and fitness junkies. Boasting only 5 calories, but a whole load of flavour, this refreshing jelly snack is the perfect way to end off a workout, or just to enjoy on a sweltering afternoon. Pro tip: chuck it in the freezer and you’ll get a delicious ice slushy.”

5. Amazin’ Graze Dark Chocolate Brownie Chips

Tatler Asia

“What I love about Amazin’ Graze’s Dark Chocolate Brownie Chips is that, on paper, it looks like a diabetic’s idea of a disaster. But take one bite and you’ll discover that “healthy snacks” isn’t such an oxymoron after all. These are essentially brownies made with dark chocolate (aka real chocolate, not sweetened nasties), chia seeds, almond flakes, coconut shreds—and no refined sugar. And since they’re flattened like chips, I like treating myself to these protein and fibre boosters whenever I’m streaming something on HBO Go.”
