1. Cenzo

Tatler Asia

The latest addition to Club Street’s vibrant gastronomic scene is Cenzo. The latest concept of Drew Nocente, the chef-owner of the now-shuttered Salted & Hung, serves up Italian fare with an Aussie touch. Choose from a plethora of dishes, among the standouts are the handmade bucatini and porchetta. The former is a hearty pasta dish comprising al dente bucatini topped with sweet spanner crab and briny smoked trout roe. Opt for the porchetta if you prefer meat, and you'll get quick-aged pork belly marinated in spices and herbs and slow-roasted for three hours. It's really indulgent cut with a crispy exterior and a succulent interior. It’s elevated with tangy and spicy pineapple chilli jam and fresh celeriac slaw.

4. Gusta Sourdough Pizza Co.

Tatler Asia

A short walk away from Nex is Gusta, an intimate pizzeria that puts the spotlight on handcrafted sourdough pizzas. The chefs craft their Neo-Napolitano-style pies using a 30-hour slow-fermented pizza dough that results in a chewy texture. It’s topped with a variety of fresh ingredients and cooked in a specially imported electric oven for a beautifully crisp crust. There are classic flavours, of course, but get adventurous with innovative creations like the mala chicken pizza dressed in juicy chicken, mozzarella, mala cream sauce, chilli oil and kale; and kimchi. The vegan pizza uses the same chewy pizza base, but is layered with vegan mozzarella, vegan kimchi, gochujang sauce, mushrooms and roasted seaweed.
