Suite Size: Occupying a whopping 3,500 square metres — that's 37,600 square feet, thank you very much — The Datai Estate Villa is one of the largest of its kind in all of Asia. 

Suite Specs: The Datai Estate Villa comprises five bedrooms including one master, each with its own balcony and ensuite bathroom with standalone bathtub. There are two living areas, two connecting swimming pools, two dining rooms, a bar with a pool table, and a flexible space that can be transformed to suit guests’ needs — from a children’s playroom to a spa treatment room, or even a small private gym.

Guests can enjoy 24-hour butler service and their very own private chef, who specialises in authentic regional flavours. Also included are airports transfers, daily afternoon tea and an à la carte breakfast served in the comfort of the villa or at the resort’s The Beach Club restaurant.

Suite Design: Bathed in natural light and decorated in rich neutral tones, interior designer and architect Didier Lefort takes inspiration from Malaysia’s craftsmen and artisans, paying tribute to the country’s rich heritage and the local environment. Meanwhile, contemporary touches and comforts, and warm sensual lighting, anchor the suite in the present day.

Escape to Nature: The Datai Estate Villa is ideal for reconnecting with nature. The exclusive residence has been positioned to allow guests to soak in the wild and earthy setting of the surrounding ancient rainforest from, while being walking distance to the Andaman Sea.

The Datai Langkawi sits on Datai Bay, which according to National Geographic is one of the top 10 beaches in the world. The hotel was built, and continues to be exquisitely maintained, with utmost respect for its surroundings, thanks to its dedicated team of on-site naturalists and marine biologists.

About the Hotel: Nestled within a 10-million-year-old rainforest, The Datai Langkawi has been hailed one of of the world’s most stunning resorts for its mesmerising natural surroundings, visionary architecture, understated elegance and Malaysian hospitality. 

Leisure facilities include three swimming pools, a state-of-the-art f itness centre at The Health Club, and an array of wellness activities including silat and yoga. The Spa features Ramuan treatments, a Bastien Gonzales studio and Phyto 5 facials.

The Datai Langkawi houses four tempting eateries to satisfy an array of cravings, including authentic Malay flavours, Thai food, French fine dining, or a perfect pizza. Ensuring the resort and the island are preserved for generations to come, The Datai Pledge promises to make its business operations sustainable, regenerate the environment and community, conserve coral reefs and marine life, promote sustainable fishing, conserve Langkawi’s wildlife and regenerate the rainforests. Along with banning single-use plastics, from 2019 to 2020, five artificial reefs were deployed and 300 coral nubbins transplanted to Datai Bay reef, one hornbill nesting box was installed and over 100 seeds were collected and planted in the Native Tree Nursery.
