Planning on travelling out of Hong Kong this holiday season? Read this.

Good news if you’re thinking of travelling abroad this holiday season. The Hong Kong government has just announced that they will increase the number of quarantine hotels in Hong Kong, making 1500 more rooms available to inbound travellers from places other than Mainland China and Macau.

The “sixth cycle” of hotel quarantine hotels––40 properties in total––will run from December 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022, encompassing the Christmas and Lunar New Year holidays. A total of 11,500 rooms are available to be reserved during the period. Rooms are available to book now, and are selling fast. Stays can be booked for each hotel on their respective websites or by calling hotels to check availability. See the full list on the government website here

New additions to the Hong Kong hotel quarantine list include Lanson Place in Causeway Bay, the O’Hotel in Kowloon City and the Nina Hotel Tseun Wan West. Five-star quarantine options at the Kerry Hotel and The Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong will still be available for booking, with others providing quarantine concierge services, exercise equipment and meal upgrades to help guests make it through their three-week stays.

Unfortunately, at present, there is no indication that Hong Kong’s 21 day quarantine time will be reduced for group A countries, or if the previously launched antibody test scheme will be relaunched in time for Christmas.
