Red Bull’s Sergio Perez Wins the Singapore Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez has won the Singapore Grand Prix. It was an exciting race that was initially delayed due to the rain and that required two safety cars and five virtual safety car periods but Perez fought hard and took the chequered flag 7.5 seconds ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc Takes Pole Position at the Singapore Qualifiers

It was a nail-biting hour as the F1 cars took to the Marina Bay circuit on Saturday night for the qualifiers. Conditions were wet after an afternoon of heavy rain and the drivers slid on the track, narrowly avoiding many near misses.

Charles Leclerc eventually took pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix after clocking in 1 minute 49.412 seconds. Behind him, just 0.022 seconds behind was Red Bull's Sergio Perez followed by Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes.

“It's been a very, very tricky qualifying," said Leclerc after the qualifiers. "In Q3 we didn't know what to do, we went for the soft at the last minute and it paid off. I made a mistake on my last lap so I didn't think I'd get pole, but it was just enough.”

Charles Leclerc Leads in FP3 Despite Session Being Cut Short Due to Rain

It was pouring as the F1 cars took to the street circuit for their third practice session before the qualifiers (which will take place at 9 pm local time). The cars were on the track 30 minutes after their scheduled start time due to the weather making the track unsafe.

Charles Leclerc emerged fastest even though the session lasted only 30 minutes. He clocked 1m 57.782s with Red Bull's Max Verstappen coming in second followed by Ferrari's Carlos Sainz.

Lewis Hamilton Sets the Fastest Time in First Practice Session

After two years, our Marina Bay streets were once again lit up with the sights and sounds of F1 cars as they took to the track for the first practice session of the season.

Lewis Hamilton easily set the fastest time at 1m 43.033s with Max Verstappen finishing second and Charles Leclerc in third.
