From epic floral arrangements to sumptuous fine dining, here’s an exclusive peek at what went down inside the ballroom at Singapore’s Tatler Ball 2022
Last Friday, Tatler Singapore brought back the annual Tatler Ball in style, making it bigger, better and bolder than ever before. The lavish soiree was hosted at the landmark National Gallery Singapore—serving Met Gala in Asia vibes.
Not only was it the perfect occasion to celebrate Tatler Singapore’s 40th anniversary, it also marked a return to life in Singapore as the Tatler community got dressed to the nines and came together to celebrate each other after a long two-year hiatus.
In case you missed it, here’s what went down inside the ballroom at the most coveted Tatler Ball yet.
Making an Entrance
Guests at the Tatler Ball arrived to a dramatic scene at the National Gallery Singapore staircase, which was draped in a ruby red carpet and adorned with striking floral arrangements by Fiore Dorato. The Singapore-based luxury florist’s magic touch could be found throughout the event, with elaborate centrepieces in rich autumnal tones of red and purple found at cocktail tables, the champagne tower, and on the ballroom dining tables.
Upstairs, a cocktail area welcomed guests in quintessential Tatler fashion: with Moët & Chandon champagne and sumptuous amounts of caviar by Nomad Caviar.
Here, society swans, industry leaders and other esteemed Tatler friends mingled and took turns to have their photos taken against a Tatler Singapore backdrop, admiring each other's gorgeous ensembles.

Also in the cocktail area of the Tatler Ball was a V-Zug installation brought to life the Swiss manufacturer’s culinary finesse and streamlined designs. Taking inspiration from the Salone del Mobile 2022 booth in Milan designed by Elisa Ossino Studio, the V-Zug zone featured a full suite of appliances from the brand, with key products such as the RefreshButler fabric-care appliance, the Combi-Steam ovens, and the Supreme refrigerator.
A delightful array of canapés were served, including savoury snacks like a truffle mushroom bun and smoked potato crisp with scallion pomme puree, as well as festive desserts such as delicate mont blanc tarts and cheese cakes topped with tropical fruits.
A Spectacular Space
The Tatler Ball 2022 was held inside the Supreme Court Terrace, which is the National Gallery’s most expansive and impressive space. The venue is built around the former Supreme Court’s Rotunda dome, on which the Tatler Singapore logo was projected throughout the evening.
Long, lavishly decorated tables were spread throughout the ballroom's main and mezzanine areas, and the neighbouring Glass Room, an intimate space overlooking the stately dome, was transformed into a private tasting room where the rare and exclusive Hennessy Paradis was served to just a handful of lucky guests.
Dinner Is Served
So what does one serve to some of the most discerning diners in Singapore? We invited the esteemed Mandar Madav, executive chef at Conrad Centennial, to dream up the perfect menu for our guests. Think seared Hokkaido scallops and locally-sourced poached prawn sat on a silky-smooth cauliflower puree, topped with caviar, and foie gras served with braised wagyu short ribs.
A plant-based menu was also on offer, with a delicious main of spiced cauliflower in jerk seasoning and heirloom tomatoes served with vegan cheese and beetroot.
To sip, guests enjoyed New World wines by the legendary Cloudy Bay, which helped put New Zealand on the wine map with its iconic sauvignon blanc. Bottomless pours of Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Belvedere vodka also flowed throughout the night.
