What: Singapore’s first museum dedicated to children is set to open on December 8 with two levels of thematic and exciting exhibitions aimed at encouraging joyful learning and play for our young ones. 

Some highlights include an exhibition where kids can learn how trade and travel were conducted by ships by boarding a crafted ship and a gallery where children can pretend to be shopkeepers and customers while learning how trade and marketing used to be conducted in the past.

What: If your kiddo is a massive animal lover, why not pop by the Singapore Zoo one morning to have a hearty breakfast while sitting through a 30-minute presentation featuring orangutans, macaws, tamandua, coatimundis, and reptiles?

Breakfast in the Wild will include lots of photo points and a free-and-easy interaction area.

What: The Singapore Writer’s Festival is back. This year, the premier multilingual literary arts festival in Singapore celebrates its 25th edition and celebrates with more than 200 programmes over three festival weekends.

While the festivities are winding down, you still have one final weekend to enjoy this year’s exciting line-up of experiences. It's perfect if you are trying to inspire your kids to read and write more.

What: We hope you and your kids aren’t squeamish because this one requires a strong stomach. If you have a kiddo who loves science, animals and insects, they will really enjoy a visit to Insectta, Singapore’s first black soldier fly farm.

Kids can see larvae ingest household and agricultural waste, learn how bugs can solve food waste issues and even feed chickens.

What: The Affordable Art Fair is back after a three-year hiatus with a slew of incredible artwork that is perfect if you have a budding artist or art critic on your hands. 

Featuring over 75 local and international galleries from 21 countries, this year’s fair will showcase thousands of artworks from over 550 emerging and established artists. From contemporary oil paintings to life-size sculptures, there will be something to suit every taste.

What: Need ideas on how to get your kids out of the house to burn some energy over the school holidays? We have just the solution. Join Otah & Friends on a discovery adventure of Joo Chiat as they unravel riddles and clues all while discovering all that Joo Chiat has to offer. 

The journey will take you about three hours over just under two and a half kilometres and will have many rest breaks for tiny feet.

What: If you have a budding historian on your hands, you’ll want to listen up.

Artist and world nomad Ana Tzarev has lived an incredible life. The artist grew up in war-torn Croatia before moving to New Zealand and starting her own couture fashion line.

In her mid-fifties, she found a second career as a full-time artist and is now presenting a solo art exhibition in Singapore entitled Postcards For The Future. Featuring 47 new paintings and three sculptures, this is one exhibit you can’t miss.

When: November 19 to 27

What: If you haven’t heard, Jurong Bird Park will be closing its doors on January 3, 2023, and will begin preparations to move to a brand-new home in Bird Paradise at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Before it closes, the bird park will be celebrating the end of its 52-year-long legacy with A Flight To Remember.
