The K-pop girl group is also set to embark on its biggest world tour ever this year
After over two years, our favourite K-pop girl group, Blackpink, will finally be coming out with a brand new album this August, according to its record label YG Entertainment.

The quartet is reportedly wrapping up the recording of this new album and will continue to film the supporting music videos in July.
In its statement, YG Entertainment also announced that Blackpink would be going on a world tour.
“A lot of music that is Blackpink-esque has been completed with much effort over a long period of time. In order to expand Blackpink’s emotional connection with fans all over the world, they will set out for the largest-scale world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year along with their comeback,” said YG Entertainment.
“Furthermore, big projects fitting of that status will continuously follow,” it continued.
That said, the record label was tight-lipped when it came to details about the upcoming album. It only said that the band has worked hard over the past two years and that the album had “multiple tracks featuring the band’s signature music style.”
This will be Blackpink’s first release as a band since October 2020. Over 1.4 million copies of the 2020 release, titled The Album, were sold, propelling the girl group to stardom. Since its release, Blackpink members Rosé and Lisa have branched out with solo careers and released their own solo albums, R and Lalisa, in 2021.
