Need a new K-drama to sink your teeth into? Check out these new addictive shows coming out in August

It's no secret that we Singaporeans love our K-dramas, so much that one of our favourite pastimes is to keep up with all the latest releases that we can all binge-watch with friends and family—or even by ourselves, no judgement there.

From a heartbreaking story of a man coming to terms with the loss of his father by driving his beat-up car on the run in Stellar: A Magical Ride to actors Yoo Hai Jin, Jin Sun Kyu, Park Ji Hwan, and Yun Kyun Sang going on a camping trip around Europe in Europe Outside Your Tent, there is no shortage of addictive dramas this August.

Here, we highlight five new dramas that you need to add to your must-watch list.

1. Europe Outside Your Tent

In this Korean variety show, actors Yoo Hai Jin, Jin Sun Kyu, Park Ji Hwan, and Yun Kyun Sang head to Europe for a wild camping trip. With nerves and excitement, the group make their way to Europe for a nine-day camping trip in Switzerland and Italy.

Viewers will explore the stunning sights with them as they work their way through the beautiful European cities.

2. If You Wish Upon Me

Everyone knows the classic trope of one’s life flashing before their eyes in the last moments before one dies and not fulfilling everything on his or her bucket list. In Woori Hospice Hospital, Team Genie is there to grant that final wish for patients.

The team features captain Kang Tae Sik, who is trying to make up for a sordid past with a desire to serve the terminally ill, Seo Yeon Joo, a strong-minded nurse, and Yoon Gyeo Rye, a former criminal who spent his childhood at an orphanage and who seeks comfort from the people he helps.

Starring Ji Chang-wook, Sung Dong-il, and Choi Soo-young, the show looks set to be an emotional ride.

3. Stellar: A Magical Ride

In this hilarious and heartwarming drama, a man slowly comes to terms with his father's death while on the run in his dad’s old beat-up car, which he named Stellar and uses as a taxi he drives. 

As he grapples with the car that frequently stops and breaks down, he begins to recollect memories of his father over the years.

4. Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo

As the physician of the royal family, Yoo Se-Poong certainly is privy to a lot of the secrets and inner workings of the family. 

When he becomes involved in a conspiracy regarding the royal family, he is kicked out of the palace and left to work in the strange but beautiful Gyesu Village.

Starring Kim Min-Jae, Kim Sang-Kyung and Kim Hyang-Gi, this is one drama you cannot miss.

5. Street Man Fighter

In this spin-off from Street Woman Fighter, male dance crews fight for the position of Korea’s best male dance crew to represent K-dance.

Watch as some of the best dance groups in Korea battle it out for the title as well as sponsorships and prize money.
