Cover Tatler and Lancôme host a day of fun in the sun

In celebration of International Women's month, Tatler partnered up with Lancôme to plan an exclusive event for eight trailblazing and outstanding women from the Tatler community at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur

On March 5, these exceptional women, namely Shahliza Rafik, Tamara Lim, Yi Ping Teo, Su Chen, Mily Liang, Zaireen Iskandar, Natalie Tan and Lim Siu Tin, took a break from their busy schedules to indulge in a game of tennis followed by an afternoon of luxury and pampering. Arriving at the poolside cabanas at Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, they were greeted by Christian Lee, former national tennis player and co-founder of Tribe Boxing Studio, who would be their coach and guide for the morning.

Before hitting the tennis courts under the sun, they made sure to lather up on Lancôme's Absolue UV Precious Cells Global Youth Protector SPF 50, which provides 12-hour protection from UVA and UVB rays. Feeling refreshed and ready to go, they headed down to gear up and start warming up their strokes and serve.

Game Time

Split into four teams, the friendly tennis match was finally underway. The court came alive with a competitive spirit and the satisfying sounds of powerful backhands and overhead serves, as the guests approached the game with intense focus and tenacity. Between matches, there were friendly banters and easy conversations about their shared love for the sport as they caught their breaths, rehydrated and reapplied sunscreen.

The final match between the two top-scoring teams kept everyone on the edge of their seat as Yi Ping and Tamara started strong with an impressive lead. Their opponents, Natalie and Zaireen had the audience transfixed as they managed to narrow the gap with strategic volleys and powerful crosscourt shots. But it was Yi Ping and Tamara who eventually emerged victorious.

Cool Down

After that thrilling finish, the women were treated to a special Lancôme experience as the hotel's changing rooms were decked out in the French beauty brand's luxurious Absolue line, one of their best-selling skincare ranges since it was founded in 1965.

From the Absolue gel cleanser to the Absolue Rose 80 Essence and Absolue Soft Cream moisturiser, they were able to try out the full routine and see for themselves the rejuvenating and refreshing properties of the ingredients at the heart of the Absolue line: anti-ageing molecule, Pro-Xylane combined with potent concentration of Grand Rose extract.

Waiting for them at their dressers were also personalised gift bags containing their very own sets of Lancôme Absolue, as well as other self-care essentials, for them to bring home to add to their own beauty routines.
