The American artist is the newest addition to Vacheron Constantin’s circle of One of Not Many talents
Vacheron Constantin may be one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world, but the Swiss brand has never stopped pursuing excellence in its craft and expanding its horizons since its founding in 1755. Its spirit can be embodied in its philosophy, One of Not Many, which is also the name of the campaign Vacheron Constantin has been carrying out since 2018.
One of Not Many speaks to the values of the luxury watch manufacture: a never-ending quest for excellence, global diversity, and a sense of innovation and artistry. Through the campaign, Vacheron Constantin has brought together personalities who share these same values in the work that they do, such as musician Benjamin Clementine, designer Ora Ito, photographer and explorer Cory Richards and haute couture designer Yiqing Yin.

The maison recently announced the newest addition to this circle of inspiring talents, artist Zaria Forman. The American artist is known for her breathtaking large-scale pastel compositions that document climate change. She travels to the world's most remote places to capture spectacular landscapes in transition for her work, which has been exhibited in museums and galleries globally.
“Stirring emotions, bearing witness to the natural world, attention to detail and beauty: these are the things about Vacheron Constantin that I admire. We share the same passion for the world around us and the same interest in the passage of time, and all that entails. Time is the key element in both Vacheron Constantin’s work and my own,” says Forman, who drew material for a new series of artwork titled Fellsfjara, Iceland, as part of her One of Not many campaign, and created one of these pieces specially for Vacheron Constantin.

“The immense time it takes for a glacier to grow, the moment in time that I experience sunlight glistening on the side of an iceberg, the split second I capture it in a photo, the many weeks or months I spend exploring that moment in all its details to complete a drawing, the time it takes for the ice to melt. I want viewers to consider the future by looking through the prism of history that lives inside glacial remains. I want to play a part in helping to preserve beauty, as Vacheron Constantin does with its artisans, their expertise, the heritage and culture of watchmaking. We are both in a process of creation and preservation.”
To mark the launch of this One of not Many campaign created with Forman, Vacheron Constantin also unveiled a new 35mm Overseas self-winding model made entirely in pink gold with a diamond-set bezel.

“The fragility of ice contrasts the reliability of an Overseas watch,” remarks Forman. “Both tell time, and their intricacies, excellence and beauty run parallel.”
To complement its precious pink gold case and bracelet, the new Overseas has a matching golden lacquered dial in a sunburst satin-brushed for added lustre. This monochrome look is accented with 90 dazzling diamonds set on the six-sided bezel evoking the Maltese cross.
In addition to its elegant pink gold bracelet, the watch comes with two more straps: a white calf leather strap and a white rubber strap. Thanks to the watch’s interchangeable bracelet and buckle system, these straps can be easily swapped around for different looks that go from more sporty to dressy, offering its wearer more versatility.
Powered by the self-winding Calibre 1088/1, the watch offers 40 hours of power reserve. Its open case back comes decorated, rear bridges are adorned with Côtes de Genève, while the rotor is sculpted in gold and bears a compass rose.
Not long after the launch of this new Overseas model, Vacheron Constantin unveiled several more novelties at Watches and Wonders Shanghai. This included a dazzling Patrimony self-winding jewellery watch and two new Traditionnelle models with green sunburst dials.

For the first time, the Patrimony self-winding watch comes fully set with 769 round diamonds, from its slender 37mm white gold case to its snow-set dial. This lustrous timepiece required the expert craftsmanship of the maison’s gem-setters to snow-set round diamonds on the slightly domed dial. It takes utmost skill and patience to achieve a perfectly even surface that results in the mesmerising sparkle.
The beautifully timeless watch runs on the self-winding Calibre 2460 SC/3, has a 40-hour power reserve and comes with a pearlescent blue alligator leather strap.

Vacheron Constantin also expanded its Traditionnelle collection with two models featuring a stunning colour combination of a deep green sunburst dial housed in a pink gold case. Ideal as a pair of elegant his and hers watches, one is a 33mm diamond-set model and the other a 38mm model.
The 33mm model is adorned with 54 round-cut diamonds on the bezel, and equipped with the in-house manual-winding Calibre 1440 offering a 42-hour power reserve. The larger 38mm watch is powered by the in-house manual-winding Calibre 4400 AS with a 65-hour power reserve. Both watches come with open case backs through which the movements with Côtes de Genève patterns can be admired, and are paired with matching deep green Mississippiensis alligator leather straps.
