The Exchange TRX buzzed with excitement as it celebrated the art of watchmaking with a festival in collaboration with Tatler GMT

As the premier shopping destination in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, The Exchange TRX is home to some of the finest names in horology today. So it made perfect sense for the mall to partner with Tatler GMT to bring a vibrant celebration of watchmaking to its stylish, contemporary space.

From June 26-29, a section of the expansive City Avenue, where heavyweights from Cartier to Rolex can be found, was transformed into a veritable mecca for watch enthusiasts. On display were seven stunning new releases from Bell & Ross, Blancpain, Breitling, Longines, Tag Heuer, Tudor, and Zenith

Bell & Ross showcased the BR-03 Astro, with a time display that mimics the celestial movement of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, complete with a circling satellite as the seconds indicator. Blancpain flexed its skeletonisation prowess with the Villeret Skeleton 8 Days Power Reserve, while Breitling demonstrated its superiority in airborne timekeeping with the Navitimer B19 Chronograph 43 Perpetual Calendar.

Longines cut a dashing figure with the Spirit Zulu Time 1925, topped with a rose gold bezel cap. Tag Heuer inspired an adrenaline rush with the Monaco x Gulf titanium watch, while Tudor evoked a summer vibe with the Black Bay 54 with Lagoon Blue dial. Last but not least, Zenith turned on the charm with the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar decorated with lapis lazuli.

The festival opened with a cocktail evening featuring exquisite creations crafted with Martell and Chivas Regal. Guests had been informed in advance to come dressed in their favourite timepieces, which they gamely showed off at the Photo Studio, a dedicated space for stylish portraits.

Also on the agenda was a fireside chat with Nic James, the founder of The Horology Club Malaysia Chapter, and watch journalist and Tatler GMT’s contributing writer Anandhi Gopinath. They held the audience rapt with insights into the trends of 2025 and beyond. Later in the evening, guests were entertained by a musical performance by David Soh and Tasha Aleia.

Throughout July, The Exchange TRX hosted a series of watchmaking masterclasses, conducted by a watchmaker from Time & Motions, in the mall’s newly opened Premium Lounge—an exclusive space designed to elevate the shopping experience for its VIP members.

During the same period, Bell & Ross, Blancpain, Breitling, Cartier, Hublot, Longines, Rado, Tag Heuer, Tudor, and Zenith held exclusive touch-and-feel sessions for select guests, offering them a chance to discover the breadth and diversity of the watch universe firsthand.
