Tudor, together with Swiss Watch, opens the doors to an impressive new boutique at Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur

Swiss watchmaker Tudor, in a fruitful partnership with Swiss Watch, a leading luxury watch retailer by Valiram, has unveiled its newest boutique at Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. Situated at the base of the Petronas Twin Towers, the boutique is positioned within one of Malaysia’s premier shopping destinations. The new establishment makes a bold statement of Tudor’s innovative spirit and its growing presence in Southeast Asia’s luxury market.

The futuristic outlet employs Tudor’s signature colours of black, red and white to deliver an ambience that captures the brand’s bold, daring character. The aesthetic complements Tudor’s timepieces, which emphasise quality and precision while balancing tradition with innovation. Inside the boutique, horological fans can expect to encounter Tudor’s iconic flagship series like Black Bay, Pelagos, Glamour, and 1926.

The origins of the Tudor brand date back to 1926, when “The Tudor” was registered on behalf of Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf. He later established Montres Tudor SA in 1946 with a vision to deliver timepieces with the excellence of a Rolex at a more affordable price point. This ethos has cemented Tudor as the choice of adventurers and rebels for generations.

The grand opening of the new Tudor boutique featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by industry leaders, including Mukesh Valiram, executive director of Valiram, Francis Tan, CEO of Suria KLCC, and a Tudor representative. A vibrant multicultural drum performance ushered in good luck and prosperity, with the rhythmic beats mirroring Tudor’s essence of precision and excellence.

In addition, in partnership with Swiss Watch by Valiram, Tudor celebrated its new boutique opening at Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur, with the Pelagos FXD “Alinghi Red Bull Racing” exhibition. A special event held exclusively in Southeast Asia, the exhibition highlighted Tudor’s dynamic partnership with Alinghi Red Bull Racing, two forces united by their engineering prowess.

Tudor is the main partner in Alinghi’s pursuit of the 37th America’s Cup, regarded as the world’s foremost sailing event. Competition for the trophy is steep, and contenders require daring vision, innovation and audacity to attain victory. These qualities have been Tudor’s bedrock for nearly a century, reflected in its “Born To Dare” ethos.

The exhibition’s grand centrepiece was a replica sail, onequarter the size of the one on the Alinghi Red Bull Racing AC75 boat. This sail symbolised the yachting inspiration behind the Pelagos Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition watches. Visitors had the chance to experience the 37th America’s Cup race route through the Race to the Seas gaming booth and win exclusive Tudor merchandise.

The alliance between Tudor and Alinghi Red Bull Racing was formed in 2022, with the regatta team embodying the essence of Tudor’s love of adventure and unrelenting pursuit of excellence. This partnership also marked Tudor’s first foray into competitive yacht racing. With a strong track record in the America’s Cup, Alinghi Red Bull Racing drives unyielding determination through cutting-edge technology. Together, the Swiss sailing team and Tudor strive to push the boundaries of possibility.

The exhibition also highlighted the Pelagos FXD “Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition” models. The Pelagos FXD Chrono and Pelagos FXD are a 43mm chronograph and a 42mm time-only watch, respectively. Inspired by yacht racing, they mirror Tudor’s sense of bold innovation. The Alinghi Red Bull Racing AC75 hydrofoil racing yacht exemplifies the pinnacle of maritime engineering, utilising a proprietary blend of carbon, titanium and stainless steel to form a hull designed to endure the high speeds of cutting through the waves

Tudor applies the same technical mastery to the Pelagos FXD models, using a high-tech carbon composite for the case and bezel insert. Lightweight and robust, the carbon composite pairs with a titanium bezel, crown and direct-action pushers. The maritime-grade 316L stainless steel caseback also features an engraved Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo. The movement container is also made from the same maritime-grade stainless steel, known for being corrosion-resistant. The use of high-tech carbon composite is a novel experience for Tudor, which has also integrated a chronograph calibre into a fixed strap-bars case for the first time.

Water-resistant up to 200 metres, Tudor initially developed the Pelagos FXD case design with input from French navy combat divers. Both models feature a bidirectional 120-notch rotatable bezel that uses Swiss Super-Luminova Grade X1. This luminous material demonstrates a performance increase of up to 60 per cent after two hours compared to standard grades, ensuring the uncompromising legibility of the ceramic hour markers.

These durable watches fasten with a self-gripping fabric strap in blue with sporty red accents.
