At this year’s World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie (WPHH), Franck Muller showcases a vibrant and varied collection that blurs the lines between mechanical ingenuity and artistic expression

Each year, the World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie (WPHH) offers a window into the creative and technical depths of Franck Muller’s vision. Beloved by collectors for its daring spirit and mastery of mechanical storytelling, the award-winning Swiss watch manufacture has more than 50 world premieres and patents, and is continuing to shape the narrative of contemporary horology with its 2025 creations. This year, Franck Muller channels its signature boldness into five compelling novelties, each a fearless expression of the brand’s audacious approach to time, blending technical mastery with unmistakable style.

1. Vanguard Curvex Cut Flower

Turning to nature for inspiration, the Vanguard Curvex Cut Flower transforms the openworked dial into a mechanical bouquet of diamond-studded floral motifs. Petals crafted from Franck Muller’s patented Curvex Cut diamonds and gems bloom across the movement, their organic forms echoing the graceful curves of the case. Beyond its high jewellery appeal, the watch is also a mechanical achievement. Each “flower stalk” doubles as a bridge, structurally integrating the floral elements into the timekeeping mechanism. With 153 components powering a 4-day reserve, it’s as refined inside as it is radiant outside.

2. Round Triple Mystery

At once sculptural and hypnotic, the Round Triple Mystery elevates Franck Muller’s Mystery series with the addition of a rotating seconds disc—now joining the existing hours and minutes indicators. Each element moves independently, yet in perfect harmony, across a dial set with diamonds that spiral towards the centre like a miniature galaxy. This visual spectacle is the result of Franck Muller’s technical ingenuity: the ultra-light seconds disc is skeletonised to ensure performance is uncompromised, while three triangular indicators elegantly track the passage of time in an almost meditative display. The 39 mm case, available in rose or white gold, is offered with or without baguette-set bezels—each one an ode to movement, light and craftsmanship.

Bold colour takes centre stage in the Franck Muller Vanguard Royal Bauxite, a collection named after Les Baux, a French village, and the natural ore bauxite, from which aluminum is derived. Crafted from a proprietary aluminium alloy, the watch’s case is not only lightweight and highly scratch-resistant but also able to take on exceptionally vibrant colours. Inside, the in-house FM 1740-VS movement boasts a seven-day power reserve and a front-facing regulator placed unconventionally at the 8 o’clock position. By doing away with a traditional dial, the richly coloured bridges become the focal point, transforming the watch into a statement of both form and function.

4. Vanguard Sfumato Slim

The Franck Muller Vanguard Sfumato Slim offers a contrast to the bold Vanguard Royal Bauxite with its more understated, subtle elegance. Inspired by the soft transitions of twilight and the Renaissance painting technique known as sfumato, the watch features a delicately lacquered gradient dial that fades from light to shadow. Slim and elegant, the 9.1 mm case is crafted in rose gold or stainless steel, framing the vignette-like dial without distraction. Numerals give way to minimalist indexes, allowing the texture and tonality to take centre stage. The watch comes with a colour-matched integrated strap and an open caseback revealing the finely finished movement.

5. Franck Muller Vanguard Crazy Hours Jisbar

Perhaps the most unexpected release this year is the Vanguard Crazy Hours Jisbar, a fun collaboration between Franck Muller and French contemporary artist and painter, Jisbar. Known for reinterpreting art history through the lens of contemporary culture, Jisbar brings his vibrant aesthetic to the iconic Crazy Hours complication, where numerals appear out of sequence and time jumps in playful disarray.

Reimagined as a miniature canvas, the dial becomes an explosion of colour and commentary, blending Franck Muller’s horological daring with Jisbar’s graphic universe. The watch is available in five finishes, including carbon, titanium, and rose gold, and each edition is limited to 50 pieces. As part of the collaboration, Jisbar created five original hand-painted canvases, each inspired by a specific watch finish. Each artwork was then meticulously divided into 50 individual fragments, with one unique piece included in every presentation box, transforming each timepiece into a wearable extension of the artist’s vision.
