The new calibre is capable of making all the calendar corrections with only one crown
Audemars Piguet is commemorating 150 years of watchmaking excellence. This milestone calls for a proper celebration, promising a year filled with storytelling and groundbreaking moments. It’s already off to a good start with this perpetual calendar timepiece capable of adjusting all the calendar functions with a single crown.

Eschewing traditional correctors on the side of the watch, the new Calibre 7138 allows for all adjustments to be made with the crown. It does so by incorporating four positions.
- Position 1: Winding the watch clockwise.
- Position 2: Pulling it out one step sets the date clockwise, and adjust the month and leap year counterclockwise.
- Position 3: Another pull allows for time-setting.
- Position 2': By pushing the crown back one step, you can set the day and week clockwise, and the moon phase counterclockwise.

Enhanced convenience leads to improved legibility, with the dial displays tweaked for a more intuitive reading.
- Date at 12 o’clock
- Month and leap year at 3 o’clock
- Moon phase at 6 o’clock
- Day and 24-hour at 9 o’clock
- Week of the year along the periphery of the dial
The first week of the year appears at 12 o’clock instead of week 52. The progressive step of the date, with a wheel with 31 custom teeth adapted to the width of the digits, is a patented mechanism.
The sub-dials at 3 and 9 o’clock are deliberately double indicators for symmetry. Note the red mark on the 24-hour counter, from 21 h to 3 h—it means a no-correction zone, during which time the watch should not be set and any attempts to do so may mean the date will not be corrected properly. That said, it poses no danger to the movement.
The moon phase is a realistic depiction of the moon based on a NASA photograph. The full moon is centred on the 12 o’clock axis.
