Van Cleef & Arpels’s latest Perlée creations bring together playful bursts of colour, tactile golden beads and poetic secret watches—an invitation to layer, mix and make them uniquely yours

Van Cleef & Arpels has long excelled at conveying elegance through lightness, refinement and a sense of joy. This is especially evident in Perlée, the maison’s vibrant collection defined by its delicate rows of golden beads. Since its debut in 2008, Perlée has become one of the brand’s most adaptable signatures—equally fitting for everyday wear and more refined occasions, consistently embodying understated sophistication.

This year, the maison opens a new chapter in the Perlée story. The 2025 novelties expand the Perlée Couleurs line and introduce poetic reinterpretations of time with secret watches in soft pastel hues. Rooted in heritage yet responsive to contemporary tastes, these additions continue to position Perlée as a playground of texture, colour and subtle luxury.

At the heart of Perlée is its tactile design language: rounded golden beads that trace the contours of each jewel, catching light with every movement. These beads are generous in volume yet balanced in proportion, imbuing the pieces with a soft luminosity. Whether simply rendered in polished gold or used to frame ornamental stones and diamonds, they lend each creation a sense of rhythm and lightness.

The craftsmanship behind these deceptively simple forms is meticulous. The golden beads are polished one by one to ensure uniformity, while ornamental stones are chosen according to the strictest criteria—not only for colour and clarity, but also for the harmony they bring to each design.

Among the most joyful additions this year are new creations in the Perlée Couleurs line. The maison draws from its love of hard stones to present new interpretations in vibrant turquoise combined with yellow gold.

These include the Perlée Couleurs Between the Finger ring, which pairs a cabochon turquoise with a brilliant-cut diamond on opposing ends of a curved yellow gold band. The sense of balance is striking yet playful. Similarly, the striking combination of turquoise and yellow gold features in a matching pendant and bracelet—both outlined with golden beads, with the latter set with fine diamonds to enhance its brilliance.

As always with Van Cleef & Arpels, it’s the details that elevate. The gold is warm, the stones impeccably matched, and the scale finely judged for layering. These are pieces designed not just to wear but to live with—to stack, mix and reinterpret according to one’s own style.

Expanding the idea of jewellery that tells time, the maison introduces two new Perlée Toi & Moi secret watches that are poetic expressions of intimacy and style. The toi et moi design, meaning “you and me” in French, is a classic jewellery motif that traditionally features two stones symbolising the bond between two people.

Each timepiece is crowned with two domed cabochons: one concealing a white mother-of-pearl dial framed by a bezel set with diamonds, the other purely decorative. One model is crafted in 18-karat rose gold with green jasper and rose quartz; the other is made in 18-karat yellow gold and pairs blue quartz with chrysoprase.

With a gentle swivel, the gemstone opens to reveal the hidden dial beneath, blending discreet functionality with a sense of romance and surprise. As with the rest of the Perlée collection, these secret watches combine softness, colour and meticulous finishing—bringing together heritage, craftsmanship and quietly poetic charm.
