This led to the belief that wearing topaz could bring prosperity and success. In Malaysia, wearing topaz is associated with promoting emotional well-being and restoring balance. In China, meanwhile, topaz used to be revered as a symbol of love and fidelity, and couples would exchange the gemstone as a testament of their commitment to each other.

Thailand also has its own unique historical legends associated with topaz. It was considered a sacred stone with protective qualities and would be used in amulets and talismans to ward off evil and promote spiritual growth.

To care for topaz jewellery physically, it is recommended to use a chemical-free, gentle soap and to water to wash the jewellery. After washing, it is important to dry the jewellery immediately with a soft cloth to prevent any water spots or damage. Although topaz is rated 8 on the Mohs scale, which makes it relatively durable, it is still essential to handle it with care, as with any gemstone or jewellery.

In addition to physical care, topaz can also benefit from energetic care. Placing it on top of a clear quartz cluster or a selenite slab can help transmute any stored energies and cleanse the gemstone effectively.
