It has an aerodynamic profile that is accentuated by its race car inspired Aero Stabilising Blade Lights, which double as an aerodynamic spoiler while providing a distinctive character to the vehicle. In addition, it has large wheels, measuring up to 18-inch in size, that give it a definitive muscular and agile stance.

When it comes down to the experience of driving a compact SUV like the UX 200, the cabin merges the best aspects of a dynamic luxury sedan with the elevated seating position of a crossover vehicle, delivering the best of both worlds.

Lexus has spared no expense in making the interior as comfortable for both the driver and passengers as possible. This includes dual-zone climate control with rear vents to cool rear passengers, a very handy feature for Malaysia's warm climate. Heated and ventilated seats also help keep the driving experience pleasant for occupants during long drives.

Beyond that, the variant comes equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor that provides an overhead 360-degree view around the vehicle and its immediate surroundings, assisting the drivers when they need to park or navigate a narrow street.

For added convenience, both the UX Luxury and F Sport models comes with added high-tech features such as smart entry and a power back door with kick sensor to open the rear compartment when you are carrying a heavy load with both hands.

Lexus has designed the UX to be very driver-focused thanks to its 'Seat-in-Control Concept' that it adapted from the LC 500 Coupe. The concept understands that critical vehicle functions and information should be kept within easy reach of the driver, ensuring comfort and greater control. Both the UX Luxury and F Sport models come with a wide 10.3-inch infotainment display that's placed conveniently within the driver's field of vision.

Unique to the UX F Sport is a Head-Up Display that projects driving data, audio system and navigation on the lower windshield glass windscreen, allowing the driver to see the information while maintaining focus on the road.

The new UX models are also outfitted with Lexus' Remote Touch Interface that provides a haptic interface that replicates the easy-to-use nature of smartphones. Speaking of which, all variants of the UX 200 comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, bringing your favourite apps to the UX's display screen.

The all-new UX 200 is developed on Lexus' Global Architecture-C Platform that offers a distinctive a driving character combined with refined dynamics and handling. This is coupled with the Active Cornering Assist that gives the driver confidence in terms of handling and driving when taking sharp corners as it results in less body roll due to the lower centre of gravity of the platform.

Under the hood, the UX 200 is powered by a 2.0L engine that outputs 169-horse power. It is paired with a 10-speed Direct Shift CVT gearbox that promises excellent fuel efficiency and smooth acceleration, which is well suited for urban driving. But apart from offering enhanced power, the UX 200 offers excellent fuel economy and lower emission. It's worth noting the F Sport model comes with front and rear performance dampers that absorb vibrations while enhancing stability and comfort.

Lexus has a reputation for safety and the UX 200 is no different as it rides on an elegant driving platform that is underpinned by active and passive safety measures. This comes in the form of the Lexus Safety System +, an integrated suite of safety systems that employs sensors and cameras to help mitigate road accidents. Advanced safety systems such as of Pre-Collision System (PCS) and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with Stop & Go function that use the vehicle's millimetre-wave radar and camera sensors to detect other vehicles driving ahead to maintain a safe distance and avoid a collision.

Besides these two, the UX200's Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) alerts drivers of possible lane or road deviations, prompting them to correct the course and the Adaptive High Beam System (AHS) that partially blocks light from the high-beam headlamps so they do not directly project onto oncoming vehicles.

The all-new Lexus UX 200 retails in Malaysia from RM236,443 (without Insurance) and comes with a comprehensive warranty that lasts five years with unlimited mileage. Lexus will have a Christmas showroom weekender between December 11 - 12 and 18 - 19 to test drive the Lexus UX 200 where you also stand a chance to win a lucky draw.
