In the wake of the devastating loss of Virgil Abloh, French luxury house Louis Vuitton has decided to go ahead with their men’s spring/summer 2022 spin-off show in Miami. They will be dedicating the show to the life and legacy of Abloh’s creative genius, according to both his and his wife, Shannon’s wishes. Just five days ago, Abloh posted a teaser on his Instagram saying, “Miami, I have an idea...”

The show is slated to coincide with the opening of Louis Vuitton’s first standalone men’s store in the Miami Design District and will feature 10 new looks created specifically for this show.

Abloh passed away yesterday at the age of 41, from a rare form of cancer, cardiac angiosarcoma, according to the statement from his family. “We are all shocked after this terrible news. Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom,” said Bernard Arnault in a press statement, “The LVMH family joins me in this moment of great sorrow, and we are all thinking of his loved ones after the passing of their husband, their father, their brother or their friend.”
