Happy birthday, Tawan ‘Tay’ Vihokratana’! We take style notes from the Loewe brand ambassador, who knows how to incorporate colour theory and pull off unique looks effortlessly

Tawan “Tay” Vihokratana is a Thai actor on the rise in the luxury fashion scene. Known for his acting prowess in the TV series The Player (2021-2022) and Cherry Magic (2023-2024), he has also been making waves in the fashion scene, most recently becoming a brand ambassador for Loewe in May. Tay seems to enjoy playing with fun colour combinations, timeless tailoring, sporty pieces and trendy accessories in his looks.

We celebrate his birthday today by taking a look at his style file.

Tay leans into colour theory

Orange isn’t the easiest hue to work with, but Tay demonstrated in May that no matter how “difficult” a colour might be to pair, if it is worn with its complementing colour—the directly opposing shade on a colour wheel—which for orange is blue, an outfit is theoretically bound to look great.

Tay leant into this colour theory by sprinkling shades of orange throughout his ensemble, including contrasting his T-shirt and buttoned-up shirt and wearing sneakers with similarly coloured details, for a cohesive look.

Tay loves to elevate basics

While timeless items such as anorak jackets and denim jeans always work, you can elevate your look by opting for unique fabrics and standout silhouettes. This month, Tay sported a suede anorak which gave the sporty jacket a plushier silhouette, as well as wide-legged jeans with a striking turn-up details.

Tay shows colourful suits can be subtle

A colourful suit is a surefire way to make a stylish impression and, contrary to popular belief, can be executed in a subtle and chic way. The key is to choose the harmonious shades that are more on the muted side. In April, Tay wore a pale yellow suit from Vanillin Studios with a deep aubergine shirt, which are shades so closely related to beige and navy that the concept totally works.

Double denim always work

Denim-on-denim, also known as a Canadian tuxedo, is a timeless combination that Tay has worn on a number of occasions. At the Loewe spring-summer 2025 show in June, the Thai star—who is a brand ambassador for the maison—wore an oversized jacket and jeans set with logo patches on the elbows and knees. He completed the outfit with chunky, rounded trainers for a casual element amidst the utilitarian feel of the look.

When in doubt, match

Best friends don’t copy, they match, and that’s exactly what Tay and his fellow actor Korapat “Nanon” Kirdpan did this week. The pair donned light-wash blue jeans, white graphic T-shirts, chunky sunglasses and beige jackets from Ami Paris to walk around London.
