Happening this year on October 21, the Festival of Lights had no shortage of gorgeous sarees, lehengas, and kurtas that illuminated the Deepavali soirées with vibrant colours and dazzling embellishments. Kavita Sidhu, Sarah Illyas, Thanuja Ananthan and other members of the Tatler community are never ones to hold back on the glamour, showcasing luxurious looks that truly capture the essence of the occasion and the multicultural elements of this beautiful celebration.

Kavita Sidhu

This year, former beauty queen, model and entrepreneur Kavita Sidhu donned a beautiful olive-green Salwar Kameez by local brand House of Janaan.

We can hardly mention the House of Janaan without spotlighting what its founder, Sarah Illyas wore this Deepavali to the the most anticipated event of the season—the Valiram Deepavali 2025 party. This blush-pink saree from House of Janaan will stay in our feeds—and our hearts—for a long time.

Blush pink is clearly having a moment, as seen in this gorgeous gold-trimmed saree worn by the lovely Amelia Henderson, also at the Valiram Deepavali party. 

Rishita Maddey Valiram

Is this the lehenga to end all lehengas? Rishita Maddey Valiram looked resplendent in this shimmery Rimzim Dadu lehenga, which she gladly embellished with her wedding jewellery. 

Thanuja Ananthan

Our favourite entrepreneur, host, emcee and model Thanuja Ananthan posted an incredible Deepavali tribute to a look from her KL Fashion Week walk earlier this year, styled by famed Malaysian stylist Abu Shaef Hamza. 

Jen Tang

We’re still in awe of Asia’s Most Stylish 2025 honouree, Jen Tang, who looked radiant in this bright mustard yellow saree.   

Siti Saleha

Malaysian actress, model and entrepreneur, Siti Saleha and her hubby Joshua Fitton also graced the Valiram Deepavali party in Kuala Lumpur, with Siti wearing a striking red kurti top with beige hints to match Joshua’s sherwani. 

Chef Wan

TV host, restaurateur and cookbook author Datuk Dr Redzuan Ismail, known better as Chef Wan, opted for a bright pink Sherwani for the Valiram Deepavali party this year.
